Well thankfully the election is coming soon, I have to admit reading this board is beginning to suck. Up here in socialist/communist Canada our PM called an election about a month ago I think. We vote in two weeks for a new Prime Minister.
Why does it take so damn long for America to elect a president? How much taxpayer money is wasted in the past two years listening to the candidates fight to lead their parties?
Anyway, I though since all of you are so forthright with your opinions that we should do a little 'Advance Pole'. I would be interested in seeing if you would be willing to vote publically on the board. Some of you have no problem blubbering about Democrat this and Republican that... so here are the rules
1. Must be an American Citizen. If you are a not American, read but don't vote.
2. No monolgues please. Simply vote R for Republican or D for Democrat.
I think it would be curious to see where we end up since this board has memebers from every corner of America. So go ahead, don't be shy, you've proudly given your opinions for months, let's vote and tally the score.

R
-
L = Libertarian
-
R
-
A = America
I mean
R
-
I'm voting American
-
L
-
R for president; all the other votes I cast on the 4th will be to vote out all incumbents.
-
L (Unless Colorado is in danger of going blue, then I will vote R)
-
I
don't care if it ends up red or blue, voting for the "lesser" of two evils is dumb.
-
Simply vote R for Republican or D for Democrat.
Someone else...
-
My apologies, I comlpetely forgot the 'also rans'
R - 4 votes
D - 0 votes
I - 5 Votes
I hope voter turnout will be better than this come the day of the vote.
-

do you mean to say 'also rans' is all the I's and L's?
-
D
I know, I'm the only one here. I knew it was unfriendly turf when I got here.
-
R because Colorado is in danger of going to that imbecile Obama.
Otherwise it would have been an independent.

Ditto!
-
R if it's close in NY
I if it's not
Anti Incumbent the rest of the way right down to dogcatcher.
-
Donald Duck!!!!! or maybe Bart Simpson just to cover all my bases.
Seriously though it will either be:
L or R ........NEVER D
-
L Go Bob Barr!
-
wow.. looks like the dems won't vote.
wonder why?
-
I (voting D. McCain lost me with Palin. I believe in evolution)

Many democrats changed to Independent. Also, this BBS is not a very good place for a cross section of voting americans. It is predominantly around 85% republican.

LOL.. weak dodge. What the hell has religion, evolution, abortion and gay rights have to do with being a chair warmer over at the Naval Observatory? Or for that matter, what does it have to do with the economy, corruption, corporate greed, accountability and the wars?
Damn, Turtle Doc, yah disappoint me. Good luck with your corrupt socialist racist pick tho! :D

Why did they change?
And although this is a small cross section, it has certainly spawned a billion posts and I was curious to see what results we might get. It seems that more folks are willing to give their opinions and not show their cards as for voting. I personally am surprised at the number of independant or 'L' votes. Up here I only see and hear from the Democrat and Republican leaders, I don't have a clue who else is in the race, and that is why I called them 'also ran'.
-
I
-
R
Mostly because I can't see any way to keep taxes on corps from being passed on to the consumers.
-
None of the above.
Every time McCain or Obama open their mouths, I just cringe.
-
Mickey Mouse or Barney the Dinosaur... I haven't decided, both have run great campaigns.
That is how much faith I have in the current choices.
-
Conservative
Where's my candidate?
Since I have to choose between the two, I'll vote Republican. I won't vote for the PINK SOCIALIST candidate.
-
R
as I see it, an I or a L = a D
this country can't afford a tax and spend still wet behind the ears socialist D right now

A lot of I's and L's are financial/fiscal conservatives. They'd curb spending faster than your R poster boys.

QFT
I = independant
(But probably L)

Its been my experience here that anyone who isnt a republican, to a republican is considered to be a liberal democrat
Course the fact that Democrats also call you a "right winger" is of no matter
This only tells me you have an actual working brain.
Course this requires more work and thought then just accepting whatever the RNC or DNC spoon feeds you and tells you to think.
But most people are lazy by nature.
Its easier to let someone else do the thinking for you
You question authority. ALL authority. Neither the Dems or Reps like that very much.
Dems and Reps alike hate individualists. They like team players (Rah rah!)
Welcome to my world
-
I will vote republican in every race that a liberal socialist democrat might win and I will vote individualist or libertarian in any that are really lopsided.

yes and if one had a chance of winning, they'd get my vote - in the meantime, I'll vote to keep the socialist er most socialist party out
