didn't know he was so ill. he did great things for others over the past couple of decades.
-
He had been battling cancer for some time. Paul was possibly my favorite actor. Hud, Cool Hand Luke, The Sting, Butch & Sundance, Slapshot, The Hustler all classics. He was also a radio operator in the Navy during WW2. <S>
-
forgot about Hud.. that was good.. the sting and hustler stuff was crap.

Cool Hand Luke & The Sting. Two of my all-time top favorites forever & ever. Was sorry to have heard that.
-
He was very good in Empire Falls, too. His role was small, but pivotal. Joanne Woodward had a similar role as well.
-
Slap Shot is my all time favorite movie.
sad to see him :frown:
-
Paul Newman was a man's man. We need more like him in our generation. :salute
-
One of the few people in Hollywood that could be a good role model. A rare breed.
-
Cool Hand Luke :salute

My Favorite movie for me has to be Cool Hand Luke, Followed closely by HUD. The Verdict was also quite an underrated film, can not understand why they gave him the Oscar for The Color of Money, When 'The Long Hot Summer' & Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, which i believe are Tennessee Ernie Ford plays put the color of money to shame.
He met Joanne Wood ward and tho he did divorce a wife to be with her , the relationship lasted to the end of his life. I knew when he announced his retirement from racing last year that he was in trouble health wise but hoped the end wouldn't be so soon.
A Salute to a Good Person as proved by the life he lived.
Good Human Being
Good Husband
