Title: Range counter & hit sprites
Post by: Frodo on October 09, 1999, 05:16:00 PM
What do you think?

I don't like the 3 digit range numbers under
D1. Kind of distracting but maybe I will get used to it.

When you hit an enemy the hit flashes are too
big and bright.

This is not a slam just an opinion.  (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif)

Frodo: the artwork is far from complete.  There are no oil and gas smoke trails yet either.  The hit sprites and flames will all be worked on, what you see now is a stopgap measure so you see something rather than nothing.

Cheers,

Ditto for me on the range counters.  Once it goes to single-digit counting it's just a blur, so why have it?

Also, how bout some size options for the icon lettering and display of the "chess pieces?"  They seem bigger than they need to.  I know you don't want to seem too much like WB or AW, but going with different colors instead of different symbols would seem to save the trouble of drawing little rooks and knights, and anything that declutters the display is a win-win situation IMHO.

Big letters/little planes = bad.
Big planes/little letters = good.

Jedi we didn't get away from the color scheme to be different. What it allows us to do is keep all countries equal. Can't tell you how much complaining happens because one countryies color is less or more visible against some back grounds than others. Also ask yourself how often you realy care which country the bad guy is flying for. Othere things it lets us do at a later date is alow icon color selection to assist the color blind people with out problems of country identification.

In a furball  all need to know on a quick scan basis is friend or fo.

Hitech I agree on the color thing - Purps in WB are invisible to me.  Thumbs up on adding custom colors in the future.

If you guys can allow us to customize the size of the icon text, how many digits for the range display, etc. that would rock!
