I love the skin viewer program but, I hate having to wait more then five minutes to load the cache in game after using it. Is there any way to use the skin viewer without having to load cache each time you do.

If you have the hard disk space, install a second copy of AH just for skinning and point the skin viewer to it. You can also set the graphics settings of this copy for maximum detail for screenshots rather than fps.

some guys load a second version or the game and use one with the skin viewer, and the other with just the game. Not sure how to do it, you might even have to have it on a different partition.

Well I thought I had it working untill I loged on to see both versions are now running 2.11 patch 3.

Put the skin viewer in the second copy's folder.

It's a version bug. AH was updated, the skin viewer was NOT.
Happens all too often. :frown:
When working properly, it does NOT force the rebuilding of the cache every time.
I would suggest trying to preview your skins in AH (spawn one on runway) and then only use the skin viewer for hard-to-see areas. Or perhaps you could just do a lot of work in the skin viewer before going back into AH.

I like to use the SV because its faster when trying to line up paint by the pixel. I used to keep AH running and do what you said krusty but it gets old alt tabing the spawning just to see if its right when you can just hit refresh.
