I sincerely hope someone is hard at work redoing the JV44 Me262 skin :rock :rock :rock :rock

No clue to your question. If any one is about to do a 262 skin here is a link for info on markings & stencils & so forth. Yes I know I have posted it before. http://stormbirds.com/warbirds/markings_stenciling.htm

I would very much like to see a JV44 Me 262 myself aswell. Also for anyone who's making 262 skins...don't just copy the national insignias from the default skin as their dimensions are totally wrong. Also depending on the individual aircraft the national insignias on the wings were either parallel with the fuselage or parallel with the wings' sweep angle.
Here's couple of JV 44 aircraft that would be nice to see:

Flown by Oberst Johannes Steinhoff, JV 44, München-Reim/Germany April 18 1945.

Me 262A-1a, W.Nr. 110836, formerly I./KG 51, coded 'Black L'. The aircraft was transferred to JV 44 in April 1945.

Ja the upper wing crosses on the defualt skin are too thick and in the wrong position, I think.

Bumping to see if we can get some Me262 skins going, if not the JV44 skins back online :aok :aok

A bare metal 262 would be a cool skin they did use them that way in combat here is a link of a Mosquito pilots encounter with a bare skinned 262. The second story is it. http://www.mossie.org/stories/Norman_Malayney_2.htm

I think your second 262 is a captured plane that had the number added on the tail for coding by the allies. I have several pictures of other aircraft that bare similar numbers. As you can see with the Dora the paint job has been changed & I would guess most of these planes the paint work most likely has been tampered with & not original. I've been working on a 262 skin based upon one that is here at the Willow Grove Naval Air Station near Philly.
I'll post some shots when I get a chance.
Haven't done too much detail as I was planning to take the kids to the Base Museum after the holidays to get some pics of my own.

Huh, cool! I didn't know they have a 262 at Willow Grove! I have family in Abington and up at a golf course further north of the Air Base, Warrington maybe? Can't be sure if thats the name.
How do you get to see it?
