Seems someone had their pool pissed in! :lol Still I wonder if their claims hold any merit?

Porsche has just run its own back-to-back tests with the Japanese company's GT-R supercar and says it could not get within 25 seconds of Nissan's claimed record time of seven minutes 29 seconds in April.
Porsche sould send an email to Skuzzy with film of the run around the track proving Nissan is a cheater.

:rofl

blame Lotus for (secretly) developing the chassis and aerodynamics.
-
So when will Porsche accuse Chevy of cheating with the ZR-1's time, or the Dodge ACR ?
Everyone "plays" on the Nurburgring now. Unfortunately Porsche doesn't like it.
-
They won't. The Germans are still pissed at the Japs for not fulfilling their end of the "Tripartite Pact" deal.

I had a chance to check out a white GT-R in Las Vegas, was driven by two Arabic teens. Boy what an uggly car  If I didn't know better about what a marvel of technology the car was, like she wore a $20K Sentra badge, she would not even catch my attention on the dealer's lot.

I dunno but I saw one at UNLV. 20-30 people surrounded a parked Super Silver GT-R near UNLV Thomas & Mack arena. They took pictures using cellphone. Right now you're a star if you roll with your GT-R in Vegas.

Shhhhhhhhhhhh, Jay, it's a secret.

Shallower, you die from it.

Lotus has done chassis setup/tuning for many car companies. They're good at it.
Lotus Engineering Limited, is an offshoot of Lotus Cars, which engineer cars for third party companies. Examples are shown here:-
* Lotus Cortina—Lotus version of the famed Ford Cortina Mk. I.[citation needed]
* Lotus Talbot Sunbeam—Talbot's hot-hatch rally car of the early '80s.
* Vauxhall Lotus Carlton (also Opel Lotus Omega, internal name Lotus Type 104) - At the time (early 1990s) this was the fastest saloon car available, with a top speed of over 170 mph (274 km/h).
* The 1991 Dodge Spirit R/T with a version of the 2.2 L K-car engine with a 16-valve DOHC head designed by Lotus with over 220 HP.
* Vauxhall VX220 (also Opel Speedster) - Lotus produced and based upon the same aluminium chassis design as the Lotus Elise. Production of these models ended in 2005
* Lotus styled and assisted with the engineering of the Tesla Roadster, an electric sports car, as well as licensing some technologies to Tesla Motors and constructing the Roadster at their plant in Hethel. [1]
* Lotus was responsible for most of the design, development, and testing, of the LT5 DOHC V8 powerplant for the Chevrolet Corvette ZR-1.
* Lotus was responsible for various aspects of the Sinclair C5 electric tricycle.
* Lotus was responsible for the suspension calibration of the Toyota MR2 Mk. I, the Toyota Supra Mk. II and Mk. III, the Isuzu Piazza, the Isuzu Impulse as well as various Proton models.
* Lotus was responsible for the development of the Campro engine together with Proton[10], as well as its variable valve timing system, the Cam Profile Switching (CPS). Currently available in the 1.6-liter and 1.3-liter variants, the Campro engine now powers most of Proton's newer models.
* Lotus has worked on the suspension of the Mahindra Scorpio to make it more stable at high speeds.
* Lotus is partnering with ZAP on the design of their next electric vehicle, the ZAP-X, based on the APX concept vehicle.
* Lotus Produced the revised Chassis of the Isuzu Piazza

I'm an extremely knowledgeable Lotus fanatic (not being snooty, just honest), so please don't take offense Die Hard.
This is the FIRST time I've heard of Lotus mentioned, so I'm calling BS. mg has a habit of really laying on the poop and has been cornered many times.
The Isuzu's were fun to ride in. My fav Lotus' are the Esprit V8 and the Carleton. I'd still take a Carlton over any sedan made today. It was the fastest sedan until BMW recently dethroned it, not too shabby for a sedan last produced in 1992.
The Carlton:

I think they said on Top Gear that the GTR was tuned by Lotus, but that's Top Gear. Other sources say the same though. I don't know - don't really care. :)

"Sources say that the purpose of this particular testing session was to evaluate the GT-R's suspension which is being tuned by Lotus at their development center in England."

Well, if this is real competition you can rest assured that Porsche is already making a faster engine.

Top Gear about the Ford GT:
Wheels are German, brakes are Italian, Gear box is British, the body is British, steering rack from an Aston Martin Vanquish, The chassi was setup by a couple of guys from Lotus.
