For some reason, there have been some who have gotten this error. Seems to be a Vista issue. We suspect it has something to do with UAC. Grab the entire game and install it.

Roger that. Am I assuming correct that this will wipe out my settings and skins ect???
Thanks Skuzzy

Shouldn't, unless you physically remove the old folder or chose a different installation path.
We have been recomending people use a different installation path if you are using Vista.
This avoids all the issues with UAC, but if you have already been running the game, you would also have to find and move you configuration files from the old installation path to the new path to preserve them.

Shifty you can save your settings to your hard drive and then reinstall them.

All of you are having the problems with the "sounds.res" file?
Check to see if it is marked read-only. Right click on the file )default location: C:\Program Files\HTC\Aces High II\sounds.res) select, "Properties".
Are you running some type of anti-virus or file security program?
I am really curious about the non-Vista users who are having the issue. Vista was the constant for this problem.
