Title: Time to do it again, EMAIL YOUR REPS
Post by: Hangtime on October 02, 2008, 02:37:18 PM
Ok folks.. thanks again to Toad for leading the first charge. It's now time to do it again.. and folks; the best hope we have of stopping this bill again is in the House.. the Senate has defied the constituents (whotta surprise) and put on the table another pile of crap with pork piled on.

The place to get the email addy for your Rep (remember, they face re-election every two years, his/her name will be on your ballot this november):  http://www.visi.com/juan/congress/ (http://www.visi.com/juan/congress/)

Keep sending them. Every day.

Here's mine: (subject line is 'Not just 'No!' on the Bailout.. it's 'HELL NO!')

-------------

Dear Comrade King;

A mighty foolish move, your vote in favor of the bailout bill on Monday, with a 20 to 1 response from your constituents screaming "DON'T DO IT!"

You assume that the people "don't get it", and that somehow you know what’s better for us. How arrogant, and what a mass generalization. I GET IT. And your position is dead WRONG. And for God’s sake, stop the spin that this is for main street – it’s nothing but a criminal insult.

Does congress really believe that they know better than the 200 renowned economists that have come out against this? Why were they not even consulted? Again, the arrogance is astonishing.

When Paulson comes back in 4 months and says he needs another $700B, are you going to vote YES to that bailout too? How about 4 months after that? What is your limit? Do you even have a limit?

I will NEVER vote for any sellout who voted for this bailout. Many of the “respected” people who are for the bill, such as Buffet and Bill Gross, are disingenuous. They're talking their "book"-- their market positions will gain if the bailout goes through. They don't give a damn about America or the right thing, and apparently neither do you.

Expect a lot of pressure at all future public speaking events, because as a member of the small business community we are organizing and will be there with our bullhorns. And your voting record. And your disingenuous lies and traitorous performance in the 'name of the people' will be exposed.

You, Comrade Congressman, are serving your last term if you vote for the Senate's abomination.

Sincerely;

----------

Get 'em out.. use this, Toad's or write your own. Hammer 'em. Keep hammering 'em.

the tone is...um... somewhat sharp.

You may want to mention what you DO support. I support a plan where by the government would re-capitalize banks after PIMCO absorbs and sorts out the write-downs.

they are going to pass it this time .. as soon as they add their 100 billion dollars of pork to pay back the buds who got them in ... and keep them there
the Senate showed them how to pass a bill last night ....

do you really think they care what we want? they are untouchable without TERM LIMITS

there are too many stupid people who are fooled into re-electing them time after time after time after time .....

I sent this condensed nugget off to all 3 in my dist in Md

I am sick an tired of my government taking money from the common man to bail out the insanely rich people that continually screw up our economy.

The current Treasury/Fed/Administration plan screws the taxpayers and rewards the weasels that caused the problem.

This is an opportunity for you to distance yourself from the Wall Street Elite Thieves and stand up for the average American taxpayer.

Let's make sure the taxpayer doesn't get screwed. Let's make sure that the taxpayer actually gets something out of this. Ritchie Rich guy and the Wall Street Thieves should be happy to get out of it with their skin still on. They deserve punishment, not reward.

This will be my first time voting and rest assured,I will be doing my best to vote out anyone standing with this rape of the taxpayers.

My reps are hopeless, but I'll make the futile effort.

Mark Kirk (R-Rino) in the house -- he's already lost my vote and will parrot the neocon party line but I'll pretend and threaten him with my vote anyway.

Didn't bother with Obama or Durbin in the Senate :rofl

A lot of the pork added to sweeten the deal is tax breaks.

Are these permament breaks?

What amazes me is that Congress can throw tax breaks around at will as incentives to get people on board for somehting like this yet they turn around and raise another tax in order to keep the gov's "revenue" the same.

WTF?

If they can propose tax breaks to get people on board, doesn't it make you wonder if the tax that is getting the break was needed in the first place?

This whole thing stinks....BAD!  And if it goes through, I hope people wake up and vote these a-holes out of office.  It amazes me how they think they know what is best for me.  F them.

This might be different, even on liberal sites the voting shows heavy on the no, 64% msn when I voted. And it was split with yes and undecided. I think something like this would wake a sleeping giant...the voter

And very little of that...if ANY is gremain to the current legislation being sought to help the issue out. It's bells and whistles better known as BRIBES to get votes.

Some people are gonna get richer when this is all said and done.

And on a side note , these investigations of the problem , won't be done until after the election....And I saying right now...that the ONLY people that will be in the spot light will have an R by their name. Even though TONS with D's should be in there as well. I'll bet right now not one Dem. gets hammered when the lights start coming on.

Too be honest, if THIS is what kicks off the revolution, I'm going to be a little disapointed.  Not at the revolution, but the fizzle of a start.
