Title: So what is the percentage that the bill will pass?
Post by: Maniac on October 02, 2008, 03:53:01 PM
A rough estimate is that 70-80% of the "common people" are against the bailout bill. But what is the percentage on that the Bill actually will pass in your oppinion?

Something like 80% - 90% for the Bill to actually be voted thru? Or is it more a 50 - 50 kind of a deal? Of course one have to take into notion given only two choices how to vote its surely 50 - 50 :P

If it passes, it will be 100% of it with probably some pork added.  Our senate and congress have lost the concept that in fact they represent the people, not their own special interests.

Bills don't ever pass simply because they are good legislation....PORKED bills on the other hand pass often. This one will pass cause a bunch of greedy Azzes got what they wanted added in even tho it has NOTHING to do with what they are trying to fix.

Another question: How many members of the congressional banking committees who did not stand up against the policies we are suffering from now will still have a job come Nov. 5? My bet is far too many.

"Too bad"

I sent an e-mail to my Senator, Lugar and told him that after all these years of giving him my support I would not vote for him. I'm pretty much going Libertarian. I think it is official, and I hate to say it, that the Republicants are no more than the lap dogs of the democreeps.

I heard several people call in on a talk radio station today and they all said the same thing. They're voting Libertarian. Let's face it, if you are a conservative there is no other party. Reagan, rest in peace, is gone and no one is capable of stepping into his shoes.

Well, it should NOT pass but, I am afraid it will... I remember a story about the late, great Strom Thurmond (no jabs please, he was a life-long family friend) physically wrestling with Texas Senator Ralph Yarborough to prevent having enough numbers for a quorum... It is a shame that nobody has that kind of passion for ANYTHING anymore.  I believe I give us about 30% of defeating this thing.
