Title: Yes we have a second SEA
Post by: Sled on October 03, 2008, 12:25:35 AM
As some of you have noticed we now have two SEA's

The main purpose for this is the "squad shuffle", that was having to be done by the FSO and Scenario squads between the two events. This should no longer be a problem, as now FSO will be held in SEA I and Scenarios will be held in SEA II. The other events in AHSE's will be divided up later.

Also, if anyone in FSO missed it.

The Re-arming issue with bomber formations has been mostly resolved. It is now the case that Bomber formations can re-arm THE PILOTED BOMBER ONLY and the remaining bombers will stay on the runway, till the re-armed bomber is about 6K yards away after TO. At that time the drones left on the runway will go away, and not be left indefinitely on the runway for enemy fighters to kill.

So, if you bail out of your first bomber during your first sortie, and RTB with two bombers, the bomber you are piloting will be able to land and re-arm, while the other remaining bomber is left on the runway after you TO. After you are about 6K yards away (I have not checked the exact distance) the bomber on the runway will go boom, and be gone.

This is a BIG help for us in AHSE's, and a BIG TY to HTC for fixing that for us.

I am hoping that these changes and additions will help all of have more fun with less work.

Hey Sled do you know if we need to redo our squadron affiliation in the new SEA ?
If so the CO's would need a heads up, so they have time to get everyone in uniform.

SEA I should be the old SEA.

SEA II is the new one.

FSO squads should still be intact in SEA I.

I'm glad to see this, this was always a big problem for me as I participate in scenarios and being the CO of the squad we would have to reform the squad and get invites back out to everyone, so Wtg on whoever got this new SEA. :aok

I don't think it's much of a help because losing one or two bombers to remarm one is a negative expectation proposition.  It's only beneficial if you've lost two bombers and the last one is intact.

The drones left on the runway don't count as a death when they "go away?" What if they've taken damage?

No, drones that "de-spawn" on the Runway do not count has a death. It does not matter if they have taken damage, they made it back to base and landed. Just like any other AC.

Now, if those same drones are shot on the runway, before they "de-spawn" then they will count as a kill for the enemy.

Sorry, I didn't fully read the OP and when I saw you talking about bomber drones I figured you posted in the wrong thread or something.

Hey Sled
Since SEA1 will now be for FSO only, would it be possible to put the upcoming FSO map up early in the week?
It would help in flight planning to be able to do a mock run.
Thanks

FSO will not be the ONLY thing in SEA I, but yes, we should be able to do that.
