Title: BIG numbers problems again
Post by: Sled on October 04, 2008, 09:20:25 PM
I do not normally do this publicly, but I am hoping a little "public pressure" will help, and seeing as there were so many squads involved, I don't feel like I am singling anyone out here.

squads with number issues last night.

------------------
OVER
====
325th Checkertails VFG - 15 attending, 7-10 level, over by 5 (Axis)

UNDER
=====
! 347th Fighter Group ! - 11 attending, 16-21 level, under by 5 (Allies)
13 MPG - 11 attending, 16-21 level, under by 5 (Allies)
Army Of Muppets - 0 attending, 11-15 level, under by 11 (Allies)
Claim Jumpers - 10 attending, 16-21 level, under by 6 (Axis)
-------------------

Now yes you are allowed to be over or under your minimum and maximum numbers by 2, but these squads would still be out of their numbers, even in that case.

I know that under in numbers is difficult to control, and it happens sometimes, But I still have to stress to you guys that this makes it very difficult for your side. It is ALLWAYS better to be conservative with your estimates. It is far easier to tell people "sorry we are full" than to try and find more people. And in most cases, if you have too many people show up they can find rides with other squads that are short.

Some one from the Claim Jumpers PMed me 30 min before I went to the SEA that they had not gotten the orders. I was at practice at the time and went stright to the SEA afterward. I admit that I should have checked the boards 1 more time because I sent the orders out late.

One of the players that I sent the orders to was present during the frame. The one that PMed me is not on their contact list. I do not recall anyone stating that they did not recieve the orders at frame time and they did go to the field they were assigned, so I guess they got it them after all.

Although this may or may not have been part of their low attendance problem, it leads me to another point> you now have the potential to have 4 contacts on the AHEvents site for your FSO squad. We are using 3 and there have been a couple of times when 2 were AFK. I intend to fill in the 4th ASAP.

And as for the 325th: I was checking for low attendance and missed that until the logs came out. Sorry I didn't catch it sooner. I'm thinking the Claim Jumpers would have welcomed the help.

Sorry for the CLAIM JUMPERS number issues. We had several guys just not show, 1 with internet issues, and 1 on vacation. We had to go up to the 16-21 commitment because we have had 20-25 guys show up the last 2 fsos. I am the fso co, but am not on the contact list because the squaddie who set the squad up for fso refuses to add me to the list for some reason. I will have to get in touch with one of the big dogs and probably have the squad removed and re-sign up with me as lead contact. I appreciate UNFORGIVEN getting me orders fast, since we were cap they were good enough to operate with for the night. I have been fighting with the setup guy for 3 fsos now but for some unknown reason he won't add me to the events contact list. Again I do apologize for the CLAIM JUMPERS poor showing. The beatings have commenced to correct the issue.  :salute
