Title: 8 player disappeared
Post by: TheRapier on October 06, 2008, 04:11:29 PM: It appears that the 8 player LAN mode disappeared with the last update?

Is it possible to get it back? I found it very useful for teaching my son how to fly in the game.

Post by: The Fugitive on October 06, 2008, 05:39:41 PM: nope, all gone. Too many people abused it so they removed it. Last I read was they were looking for some way for paying subscribers to use it in the future.

.....and if you checked when you load up the game you will see no more LAN button either. Too many people were abusing this by setting the game up on free servers to create "LAN"s over the internet and so make 8 player rooms again. Please try to keep up :D

where did you read that at I saw nothing of it in the information page when I updated.

this is the only thing I found that even remotely says anything about LAN, but it has nothing about abuse in it.
