Saitek 290.
They are cheap, but I throw the old ones out and get new ones more often than I get hair cuts.
-
Saitek X52, but I'm hoping on gettin some rudder pedals and TrackIR! :D
-
saitek x45. a dinosaur at best.
Tracker IR
-
Saitek X52, TracKIR and 10 year old ch gameport pro peds.
-
keyboard and mouse. I have a X45, but i only ever use it for other games, and i don't play any games a whole lot these days...so it sits around collecting dust.
-
Microsoft Force Feedback 2 (2nd edition, with the red LED and rubberized grip). It's the best twisty-stick. Damned shame Microsoft closed down their Sidewinder division. That was the only division that produced a high-quality product at reasonable prices. :)
I bought a backup because they're very difficult to find nowadays.
-
Logitech Extreme 3D pro, Keyboard, and rudder pedals. Great combo, till now when my stick decides it wants to die. :(
-
Saitek 290 pro. Had for over a year, no problems. Best $20 I've spent. :)
-
Bought set up when i came back to Aces in late may of 2007.
Costed 3 bills.
I used to use the old ????? pre USB stuff which I think was made better. Had that for 7 years and no probs, constant use 30-100 hours a month.

And this on my head. It's about 7 years old, been stepped on, missing the fuzzy, missing the ear speaker (wires hanging out, stirred my drink with it more than once trying to break it and somehow it still works

Etchosketch moniter , flashlight stuck in a peanut can for a joystick and my rudder pedals are out of a 49 dodge. And I yell out the door for Vox :cry
X52 with Saitek pedals, but switching to CH products and track IR very soon :D
-
An original Microsoft sidewinder( I know It's amazing isn't it? This thing is ancient.) And a plan-tronices headset. (don't use rudder pedals)
-
CH USB HOTAS setup: CH Pro Throttle, CH Combat Stick, CH Pro Pedals. And despite what Eaglfart claims, I do not have modified Pro Throttle set up as a duel throttle.
ack-ack
-
Saitek X52, Saitek Eclipse II, and Belkin n52te gamepad.
-
At home I have full CH setup (fighter stick, pro throttle, pro pedals) stuck in a simpit. Been spending time on the road, so I got a AV8R-01 from Saitek. Seems to work pretty good so far with this laptop.
-
AV8R is a nice stick either way. The dual throttle's are nice, but in the back side of the stick...nah.
-
(http://www.mydigitallife.co.za/images/000%20News/000picoftheday/thrustmaster_joystick.gif)

That's what I'm looking to get. I haven't been doing much research but about how much will the CH stick, throttle, and pedals be?

I have dual trottles. One came with the X52...the other is because I fly naked.... :uhoh  :O :noid
-
Analog gameport CH setup, Trackir.
I suppose I should update to USB when one of these fails. Had the CH stuff for over ten years. The only thing I have fixed is the pots in the stick. Easy to do and cost less than 10 bucks.
-
CH Combatstick 568
keyboard and mouse.
-
Spikesx do you have to make a profile to get the n52 to work right? All I get out of mine is the thumb mouse. Really not trying to hijack here. What I use is in my sig.

MS sidewinder Prec 2 USB
But I'm a minimalist when it comes to mapping stuff to stick.
8 button stick and and only use 3 for normal flying plus the hat.
-
CH Fighterstick USB
CH Pro USB Pedals
Modified Saitek X45 Throttle - Direct USB connection - Shows as "Frankenthrottle" in game. ;)

+1 for the MS stick, mine lasted 10 years and finally died earlier this year. So replaced it with the next cheapest thing a Aviator. :D

CH HOTAS + pedals. Very happy with a set, though it cost me $800 with delivery, came with a small problem which I had to fix, and now Joystick is close to die and I having problem with it quite often.
But considering how much I used it, and how great and "authentic" the feeling of fly with full CH set is, I never regretted about this purchase.
-
I use X52
I have clamped the joystick to a tallish speaker stand so it sits in front of me
the throtttle is on a lower speaker stand to my left
very comfy position to fly in..
i was getting sore back and elbows before when they where on the desk

Saitek X-36 and the pedals from a logitech steering wheel for rudder/steering in GVs. Any decent stuff would be wasted on me.

X-52 joystick and throttle - free from a squaddie
CH Rudder pedals - bought used from a friend for $40
bottle of whiskey - usually the cheap kind

CH Fighterstick, X52 Throttle and Saitek Rudder pedals.
The X52 joystick layout is - IMHO - streets ahead of the CH stick for comfort and usability and I really miss the two-stage trigger. However, the CH stick has the X52 beat for precision on the X and Y axis and that trumps button layout.
I've also got track-ir, but try as I might, I just can't get used to it.
-
mouse, keyboard and CH pro pedals. :aok
-
all I know is Lazer flies with only a mouse.
-
My first joystick was some Walmart brand back in 1990 but I went through those at a rate of at least one every 2 mo.
Eventually I moved to Logitech's Wingman Extreme, had a few of those then Saitek Cyborg or something. Eventually I started using Thrustmaster products, Fox2 Pro..etc.
Now I fly only with CH products. Combatstick, Pro Peddals, Pro Throttle.
I've had CH since about 2001 and have never had any problems. Though they are a bit more expensive than most brands to me they are by far the best. I heard Thrustmaster's Cougar is a good setup though.
Don't get me wrong, I've never had a 'bad' joystick that I can remember aside from maybe the early no-name Walmart brands but even they were better than keyboard/mouse...to me.
-
CH Fighter Stick, CH Pro Throttle, and Saitek Pro Pedals, because the CH pedals are too closely spaced for my size 13 feet. :)
Oh, and a cold Sierra Nevada whenever possible. :aok
-
What's it like to have 100s dollars worth of flight controls and to know that you still suck. :D

MS FFB2 (red light version) - have several (both blue/black box) with worn triggers/hats that are fixable if i ever get around to it.
Used to also use some TM pedals (dunno where they are now). Originaly flew with TM TopGun series (alway wore out the pots). I need to dig them out and see what i can do.. some planes benefit greatly from pedals.
-

SideWinder Precision Pro here! :D My dad used it back in the day in AWII when i used to sit in his lap and watch. It still cuts it for me 13 years later :aok

Saitek X-52 throttle and joystick

-
Mouse all the way tried sticks find mouse much easier :rock
-
MS Sidewinder Precision Pro, thing must be close to 10 years old, and a fairly new set of Saitek pedals.
-
Still practicing offline with a Saitek X35Throttle (X36 Joystick pitch pot gone bad) and ST290Pro.
Anybody know a source for X36 pots? I thought about cannibalizing the ST290Pro pots but they are smaller and I like its action.
-
I've used a twisty stick for the past 10yrs flying. MS Precision pro to a Logitech extreme.
I was wondering,(to those who have made the switch) how hard was it to switch from a twisty stick to peddles?
Is it worth it after using a twister for so long?
-

Yes I do. Also make sure you update your firmware and drivers...READ THE README as well...VERY important stuff when upgrading.
The macros work really well for my needs...I'm used to the n52te since I play COD4 a lot too. I mainly have macros setup for squelch purposes, end flight, etc. I don't use any regular controls on my n52te for AH I might say, only macros are set on it.
It's perfect when you need an extra couple buttons though.
-
A nice Highland Park 18yr. neat.
What? Joysticks? Oh..CH Products ;)
-
Logitech Extreme 3D Pro, had it for over 2 years now, works well, then again, I've never used an expensive stick.
