I don't know/care if there's been another thread about this movie. The people who I have talked to about it have either loved it or hated it; very few indifferent. I thought it was fantastic. The cinematography alone makes it worth watching. Eddie Vedders soundtrack was a perfect match. I heard "Hard Sun" before I saw the movie and just thought it was an OK song but now whenm I hear I crank it.
What did you guys think?

I enjoyed the movie even though it was somewhat dijointed in the way the storyline was played out. I did not like the soundtrack. I would rather listen to ten thousand stink bugs getting crushed under a steam roller than hear Eddie vedder sing anything.

Book was better but I don't have much respect for the author to begin with.
He also wrote Into Thin Air, which had a response written about it by Anatoli Boukreev, a climber who made attempts to save climbers on the mountain on that horrible summit day.

Anyways, I don't have much respect for Jon Krakauer anymore.

Eddie covered it actually - was written by Gordon Peterson

Into thin Air is a totally different movie Bong

Into the Wild is based on a book by Jon Krakauer. He also wrote Into Thin Air. I've seen and read enough to have little respect for Jon Krakauer's work based on responses to Into Thin Air, hence my little respect for a movie based off a book he wrote.
Make sense?

Sorry - looked like you were commenting on Into the Wild by your post and stating it as the same.
You didn't preface it by saying - his other book - my bad - Sorry again
-
Fixed it I hope. Realized it was confusing.

found the book better than the movie

"Historic reenactment" is not "living life like that."
