Very steep country
Hope they can determine the cause (other than CFIT).

He may had a heart attack.

Nice set of pictures.
The one of the altimeter really shows the tremendous forces involved in this crash.
Fair skies and tailwinds forever Steve. :salute

After seeing the terrain, it is no wonder that he was so hard to find him.
Happy Landings Steve!!!!!!

Hard to say Wolfala, without removing the Jug and inspecting the valves and llifters etc. It could just be mechanical damage from the impact as well.
cheers,

He may had a heart attack.
He could have had a stroke, he could have had pneumonia, he could have had herpes, he could have had a hang nail too. There is no body to examine so any conjecture on a medical condition is simply guessing.
What is known is that he ran into a mountain and died. Anything else is simply a wild guess.

hard crash no matter what else it was
no way to survive that
:salute good luck upstairs :salute

I thought he was coming from a friend's ranch located NE.
