Title: up for adoption
Post by: rapper on October 13, 2008, 12:52:16 PM
Old guy that can't fly but willing to learn looking for a home. Currently only available 24/7 but I would be willing to expand those hours if needed. Please don't tell my wife she thinks I still work.

Depends on what your looking for rapper. There are a lot of different squadrons, each has its own flavor.
Each puts its emphasis into different things.

For example, my squadron the 332nd Flying Mongrels really doesn't care much about the mains. For us its all about FSO and hanging with the pack. Granted you'll find members flying in the main. But seldom anything organized.

Take your time, shop around, see who has a good reputation, and likes the same things you like.

actually, there's nothing wrong with flying solo sir. you can still fly with many of the squads in here, without having to be a member.

Check a few squadrons out before you firm up on a decision. I got lucky and found a great group of guys called 'Sick Puppies' where I fit right in.

rapper, you will notice many squads landing kills, single pilots or multiple pilots at a time, from the same squad. you could pm one of the members and ask who the CO is and talk to him. The squad im in, the co and i had a rough start, we hated eachother but an old member made me try it, and now the co and i are stink on chiit in the F4U1A if we winging up, really though, its about what you want to do and what a squad likes to do, try them out, find one you like and ask a join.  :salute wish ya luck sir

Tune to 163 and fly with the Unforgiven for awhile!! We have allot of laughs, "at ourselves as much as anyone". We're not uptight or ego based too much, I'm the worst in squad for channel 200, I find it amusing and easy to troll for carp ;), anyway lotsa laughs and cheer!! <S>  And wait till you get a load of 3rdday <-- :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl

Find a good bunch of guys who live near you, play your hours and have the same intentions as you as far as gameplay goes.

My squad is perfect for me. Predominately a fighter squad, strong emphasis on effective teamwork and winging but with no rules and a loose and informal structure. Most of us are Australian and laid back, easy going guys.

They weren't my first squad but I'm certainly at home now.

Take your time, hop the countries and make friends... see who you like flying near and start from there.

I'm sure whoever you end up with will enjoy
your company..ans especially your wit!

That 'adoption' line has got to be the most
original I have heard yet!   :D

If you ever fly ROOK look us up on either
Vox 182 or our missions Vox channels
181 or 183.  Tell anyone there that 96Delta
invited you to fly with us.  You don't have
to join...you just gotta want to have fun.

Oh, and we are more than patient with
people in this game.  Many of us enjoy
showing off how much we know (or think
we know! ). ;)

Best of luck to you!~

Come fly with the 79th Fighter Group one night with us and feel the excitement that we have as a group. We will also take you one on one to help teach you with anything or answer any questions that you may have with flying in Ace High or a squadron. We are an active squadron, flying every day and night. We have squadron training once a week and a squadron night once a week in the arena, but we fly as a squadron all the time. We use the wingman tactics. We specialize in the P-47 including dive-bombing. We also engage in bombing runs. Stop in and have some fun with the 79th Fighter Group! Ask for GGhost, Popason  or DustyR
