Now as everyone around the baseball world knows the red sox are once again facing a huge up hill battle to win the alcs, my question is does anyone here still think they have a shot at winning the series. I will start by saying that if Dice-k can pitch well the next game and our bats come back to life then i say we have a good shot at coming back. But i want to know what you guys think.
-
As I said in the other thread:
Dice K will probably save us this game but we're gunna get slaughtered back at Tropicana field.
-
I did see that reply in a different post but i believe that if our bats can come back to life we might be able to take down those pesky rays. But we also need good pitching the rest of the series.
-
Indeed. Wakefield is not an option anymore.
Where are the Red Sox that were in the regular season? We need you back, now.
-
Oh my god do we ever need the red sox of regular season your right. But it think that if we make it to the world series we give Wakefield the go again he can either pitch really well or not good at all, and he came up big a few times for us in past post season performances so i say we could let him go one more time. I do not think we should let the Rays see him again though.
-
When wakefield pitches it's a flat out batting practice. A knuckle baller can only last a couple innings (not because they get tired) only because of the sole fact that the batters get used to it. After that throw a mid game pitcher in there to close out the 4th 5th ,maybe 6th. Bring in a setup pitcher for 7th and a closer for 8th and 9th.
-
Your points are all valid and I'm not going to disagree with them I'm just saying IF we do make it to the world series and we are ahead by a few games we let the other team see Wakefield reasons being if he does pitch well we get a win out of him and if he doesn't then we are ahead anyways. The only problem is strain on bullpen.

from last to 1st!!!

My only question to you Eagler is are you truly a fan of the rays or did you latch on with them once they started doing good?

Same for you.
-
Masherbrum if the response you gave has been directed at me then i would be happy to tell you that i have been a red sox all my life and that is because my dad was a fan, he started liking the red sox when he was a boy because Fenway Park was the first MLB ball park he visited.

Great, but what does any of this have to with Eagler? Who gives a rats "who" he roots for? The Rays are up 3-1. Take some pride in your team and root for em, but afford others that same courtesy.

Here Here!!! Moved to Tampa 7 years ago and immediatley fell in love with the Rays and the Trop. Somebody has to love the perennial losers. But, this year looks like a turnaround for us. Let us enjoy the moment as you have over the last few years.

nope, still not - baseball bores me
gave tickets away during the season as I did not want to see them live
just good to see a team go from first to last in any sport
that ok with you?
-
No.
-
No.
me either :)
-
I have never been a fan of the Phillies, Rays, or Red Sox, so I can root for whoever I damn well please, and it's the Phillies. :D
-
me either :)
I was speaking to the topic you dolt! :D
-
yea your really going to win with bucket throw meatballs. :rofl :rofl :rofl
-

Dodgers?
We've been here before, we can do it again. Hopefully Papi comes alive tonight, and we can get some bats back in. Dice K will do his part if we give him some support.
-
Seems the Sox Morale is high, lets win this game.
-
Not looking good already...2 runs on 10 pitches...
-
What the hell is wrong with us? It's now 5-0 in the 3rd inning. I can't watch the slaughter fest anymore.
-
Then you aren't a true fan.
-
OMFG are you watching this? :O
Anyone who left Fenway early deserves to be flogged in public. :devil
-
7-7 top of the 9th :pray
-
I just watched Ortiz try to bunt. :huh
-
If you have a DVR rewind it. No one was on the third base line. He wanted to get on base and let youk bat.
-
RED SOX WIN!!!!!
-
:aok
-
The Rays:
-
Think they took a page out of the 2004 ALCS Yanks book.
CHOKE!
-
Then you aren't a true fan.
First off I had to go to bed.
Can't believe they pulled it off, think they can do it 2 more games? They've done it before.
-
That horseshoe gotta fall out of their bellybutton at some point
-
yea baby come back! We gotta win now in tampa
-
Pffffttt!!!!
Tampa will win this.
-
I don`t know we got a lot of momentum coming in to this game.
-
These last two games are going to be tough. We've now got some morale to run on, but we're back at Tropicana field. In reality there's no room for error, the last game was pure, PURE luck. We need to give Beckett some support on offense for him to pitch well, unlike we did to Dice K.
-
Anyone have any idea when the next game is? It says its on now on TBS but its not on.
-
Bo, TBS was having problems so they put a show on instead.
C'mon guys it's 4-2 we can do it.
-
Yes, looks like another Red Sox win in the works, and a forced game 7. :O
-
gava, you gotta admit the Sox are comfortable right now. They've been in this position two other times in the past 4 years, they play the best when they are behind in games.
-
On to game seven baby! :rock
-
Comfortable? More like they had a fire lit under their arse! :aok No way am I missing game 7 tomorrow. :t
-
WOOT WOOT "" No matter how hard thay try thay cant stop us now"" :rock
-
I think the rays are gunna choke tomorrow. Bring it on!
Gava they been here 2 times before and won both times
-
That horseshoe gotta fall out of their bellybutton at some point
Quoted for truth. :aok
-
TALKING ABOUT SPORTS REALLY REALLY UPSETS ME AND MAKES ME ANGRY.
lazs
-
Watch out if we aren't careful they'll ban talking about sports to since everyone has their own opinions about what sport they like and which team they root for. :noid
-
C'mon boys lets get em.
-
Where's PATRIOTS when we need him most? I forgot, he's in shades.
-
Dang talk about a close run for TB. If that ball was 4 feet closer to Varitek from Pedroia Pena woulda been out.
-
Ouch, that was a nasty double play. Strike out and thrown out stealing at 2nd. :uhoh
-
Its not looking to good for the soox. :pray
-
:cry
-
Time for a new baseball thread! :lol
-
Dang...I was sure that the Rays would choke..but Garza was killing us early.
-
Congrats to the Rays. That was one hell of a series! Still would liked to have seen the Sox win though.
-
Yeah. Congrats to those Rays. They earned this one for sure and I wish em the best in the WS.
At the very least the Sox managed to lose with some bit of dignity. If they'd lost game 5, after havibg
been wenchslapped so badly in games 3 & 4, it would have hurt a hell of a lot more. It would be
humiliating to admit being a Sox fan ;) Kinda like it was after right after '78, '86, '01 and again in '03.
-

Just wasn't their year I suppose. They know darn well we gave em a run for their money and scared the living s*** out of them too :)
-
No.
Still no.
:P
