I think DOA is in the warbirds series of games not AH.

Don't they still have it up and running? I haven't looked at IEN since about 2003, maybe.
-
I remember playing that when it first came out. Warbirds was still $2/hr then but DoA was free. You could call in artillery, but other than that mostly a lot of dogfighting. 50% of the players flew the F1 or the DR1, with the occasional BnZ'r in a Spad13 or SE5. With all of the fights being right on the deck the DVII wasn't in its element. Gunnery was too effective at long range; it wasn't hard at all to score hits from 300+ yards.
Over all I wasn't too impressed.
-
During my budget crisis I had to drop AHII late-spring untill now,
I still had the withdrawals and at least needed a stand-by fix.
I ended up going to Gamershell and downloaded the full-free
2004 warbirds. The pre-update wasnt too bad with the exception
they didnt have any of the bi-planes for offline use or for the
"Build-your-own" scenario.(Create then go to instant-play list.),
and the plane list was a little skimpy.
But what in Sam-Heck was up with the fraggin update?!?
Your "Build" scenarios dont show up on the instant play list,
(played straight from the editor) if you exit the battle, the whole
scenario stops and starts all over when you re-enter,(pre-update,
the war continued even after exit.). Couldnt use CV like the early
one, where if you wanted to defend off the ship, you just right-clicked
the CV dot on the map and it placed you right on the ship.
There seemed to be some other glitches with certain models
that were really annoying.
Cant be that hard to get a game right,or does someone
need to go back to Tech-School?
-
WTF is this thread about? I'm thoroughly confused. :huh
Hey HiTech, when are you bringing out the sequel to Sim City?? Do you have any plans to update Chuck Yeager's Advanced Flight Trainer?

TB...
I do know that DoA was something that HT had no real interest in creating at the time. I would be surprised to find that he had changed in that respect.
That being said...be in Grapevine Friday....and you can ask him yourself. :D

Last I heard all HTC development had switched to an advanced AI Sheep RealDoll system secretly under development.

I believe it was HTC and cornered Rat software that branched off one making ww2 online and the other aces high. :salute

ICI (creators of WarBirds) had 3 partners. Dale, John and Robert. Robert made a space game, John made WW2 Online and Dale made AH.
Seriously TB, Dale has stated more than once that he has no interest in doing a WWI game.
-
TB...
I just asked. A lot of the things needed to do WWI have been created over the years. Thus far, there hasn't been the time or resources for HTC to implement a WWI game. HT has said current plans make doing WWI possible. As to how likely or any kind of time table......stay tuned. :D

kool thnks

Thanks for reminding me about DOA! I had forgotten that it is still on my computer… It also answered a dilemma from another thread… And gave me something to do while the arena I wanted to get into was full.
I fired up the old DVII and flew a couple of times (offline) just now. Still a fun game. I love the old biplanes.
