I recently upgraded my 6yo PC with a new mobo, CPU, vid card, and added more DDR ram. About the only thing left from the old PC is the 40GB HD. The basics: AMD Athlon 64X dual core 4400+ (2.31GHz), 1GB ram, ATI Radeon Hi-Def 3400 series vid card, the mobo is a MTI. It was a HUGE jump up for the quality of game play for AH2, instead of having a laggy game even on the lowest possible settings I can use even the highest quality and still get no lag with the new set up. I do ge some video lock up when I switch views about once an hour (grr). It uses a fully updated Windows XP Home Edition fpr an OS.
Here is my problem
I went out and bought another PC for the rest of my family from a local PC shop that includes the following: Intel Pent 2.2Ghz dual core, 1.87 GB ram, Nvidea GeForce 7050/GeForce 610i (not sure what the 610i means). Not sure what the mobo is. OS is a fully updated Win XP Home Edition. It runs as smooth as ever and it does seem to be ever so slightly more smooth running that the above PC. The biggest difference is when I installed the "Bros in Arms: Highway to Hell" game (btw, I'll be selling that game for $35 shipped as soon as I am done). The new system wont run it due to a nasty video lag issue and the old system runs it almsot perfect (slight system/video lag in somc scenes).
HELP! Which system is actually faster and "better" to play games on?

The first one has a much, much better video card. Any game which is heavyly dependent on video orocessing power will run better on it.
The new one has one of the slowest video chips available. It is also onboard, without its own video RAM, using system RAM, which is also slower than dedicated video RAM. ALl in all, it will run Microsoft Word well, and any other software which relies more on CPU than video.
