I was tring to get a field capture this weekend to help my 1000+ capture ranking. My oh my the competition for a capture has gotten intense!
At every field there are at least four M3's and maybe a goon or two for added good measure. At one field I counted six M3's and two goons and at a VB there were four M3's and a lone tanker dealing with several enemy tanks.
So my question is; How many M3's does it take to screw in a lightbulb?
Lightbulb-hearted responses only need reply.

Three!
One to release troops before the town is fully down. Another to drop troops a second later in hopes of stealing the capture, and then a third M3 to finish the deal but who would've tried to steal the capture if he had arrived sooner. :D

:rofl :rofl :rofl That is soooo true!

I don't know what you're talking about. The majority of the time when I'm attacking a field, by the time someone is getting relatively close to a goon, the town and VH have popped.

Conversely, I was way in the middle of know where and had 4 knights attacking my lone m3. After that I said how many Knits does it take to kill an m3?!

That's funny because it is entirely true for one of those instances the OP was mentioning. Two M3s releases their troops even though they were parked in the shadow of an undestroyed radio tower ;)

In BISH land the correct answer would be "dude...I thought you had the M3 with troops, I have supplies" or " {insert crickets chirping sound here} ".
-
I love screwin' with my squad. Right as I get to the base in an M3 I say "Aww s**t I've got field supps" if no one's around the base, and then drop the troops.

<--- looks around sheepishly.

It's even better when after suppressing the base, ack, planes, gvs, whatever, you ask multiple times on range "Does anyone have troops?" You get no answer so you or a squadie bails, thus losing the chance to land their kills, and grabs a m3 or gooniebird. You get all the way to the base, or better yet have just spawned in when the base gets captured by a guy who was sitting their with troops all along but never deems it necessary to answer you when you call for troops....
:furious

It takes 5...
3 with troops and 2 with supplies. :rock
:salute

I love it when you and your squad have spent the last 30misn taking town, ack, hangers, planes, etc. down just to have some guy who did nothing to help us roll troops when no one asked for them just to get the capture. Iv been known to let an enemy up just to drag him over to that guy and let him kill him. Then kill the enemy and let my squadie roll in and get the take.

Probably one of the best titles for a thread that I've read in a while!! :aok

you forgot #4 who releases his as the previous 3's troops are keeping the badguys distracted :D

If it weren't so true, this thread would be hilarious. :aok

Zero!
The SdKfz 251 that claimed it was carrying supplies snuck in and landed troops after all the M3s got killed :lol

Last week I was traveling with a squad(nobody from mine was on) and headed to a vbase in an M3, got too close in the first one and got whacked by the wirbly by the map room, came back, announcing I was there, drove past 3 other M3's (on the wrong side of the base waiting for the all clear) on my way to a grove of trees near the map room and got the base take the moment it was clear. I was then invited to tag along for the next few base takes due to my impeccable timing, but had to get some things done and had to bail. I think too many players just don't know how to look at the map and locate the map room and tend to drive all over a Vbase looking for it. He he, thank you noobs.

I'm surprised no one has said "You can fit more than one M3 in a lightbulb?" yet.

None if you use the German half track or LVT. :devil

As the BISH noobs would say "like, what's a lightbulb?"

The WEP on my m3 was INOP or I would have gotten that base... The Motor SGT will be getting an official Letter of Repremend attached to his 201 file.
