This isn't a first as a lot of modders have done this before in the past. But this is the first time a company has sold this product as retail. From $4,000 to $11,000 you could enjoy one of these.

Very interesting read, nice find.
<--- drooling over the 3 GTX280's

Amusing. I suppose this one is Getback's dream machine? :D
-
Cool but I think I'll pass for now.
-
WOW, if I run out of hair gel I can dip the box and borrow a hand of oil!
-
Water and/or oil cooling is nice, but consider a leak. :devil
Poof 11 grand up in smoke.....
-
Think of the mess trying to upgrade it. No thank you.
-
It does not sound practical for home use but maybe for high tech labs or something.

Clearly its aimed at atracting the ladies. :rofl

 I'm not quite sure who it's aimed at ... certainly not the hardcore overclockers, because room temperature cooling is inferior to a refrigeration system - and dealing with the oil seems likely to be almost as much of a headache as condensation is - at a greater cost for far less return. Now, if they made it with a refrigeration system and then used an oil bathe to prevent condensation so you didn't have to seal, it might be a neat trick.
But as it is, I just can't see much of a place for it. There was a time when I used Kryotech room-temperature phase-change cases for servers that needed to be placed in non-cooled environments (office space that doesn't have airconditioning 24/7 or a server room available), but other than similar niche implementations, I just can't imagine much use for it, unless it's somehow for a "cool" factor I don't quite get.

This would be more for you then: http://www.hardforum.com/showpost.php?p=1033119963&postcount=23
Alcohol submersion for sub-zero temperatures..

But... That's James Bond's secret computer.

I have this small conceptual problem with powering up electrical components while they are submerged in a vat of (essentially) race car fuel... just seems like a real good way to start on your way to a bad bad day.

Who said extreme overclocking was for sissies? :t Do you think handling the liquid nitrogen that goes with that system is that safe either? :D
-
several pic of oil cooled.

It would be much easier to just stick it in one of these:

In fact I have a spare one in the basement I'm not using... hmmm...

nope Condensation would build up.

Yup, I considered this a few years back.
-
Damn the condensation. It'll be cool while it runs! Just a little extra "liquid" cooling. :D
And speaking of liquid coolers...

No you use non conductive liquid. I can pour, if I so choose, the Feser Cooling fluid direcly onto my Board, power supply etc. Your thinking old days

Dam I froze another fingertip off :O

You could coat the motherboard in 1/4 layer of vaseline, then thin coat everything else... then no condensation problem :pray

Nothing says messy like petroleum jelly.
