Wow, going from 350mph to 1050 in 20sec, that's insane.

Can the human body withstand the G forces caused by that sudden and dramatic acceleration?

It's only 2.5 G's. The problem is in having a wheel come apart at 800 mph (among 100 other potential things that could go wrong).

Achilles' choice.

Yup. They better quadruple check the lug nuts.

These guys really know what they are doing...
I have met both Richard Noble and Andy Green, very nice people. Hope they smash the record.

Current record is 766mph, quite an improvement if they reach 1000mph!
When he hits the brakes, which will slow the car down with two parachutes and an airbrake, the force of 3G could drain the blood from his head causing him to black out.
:rofl

top fuel drivers experience 6 or 7G's on the starting line.
redbull airracers sometimes experience 1 to 2 seconds of 9G's(no pressure suits)
the Blue Angels regularly experience 8 to 9G's(no pressure suits)
even in a plain old cessna, i think you're somewhere in the ballpark of 2 to 2.5G's if you do a 50 degree bank steep turn at the aircrafts maneuvering speed.
