Would HTC accept a desert camo scheme for the firefly? Or would they not because they are going to add the M4 sherman or because it was not in Africa? Does anyone know?
-
No.

I don't think so. Actually the Sherman was in africa. If i can recall they had a extensive campaign in that ToW. Any WW2 vets mind confirming?

Im talking about the VC firefly which didnt come in to action til the normandy landings. The question was if i could skin an desert camo on the firefly seeing as we dont have the American M4.

It look weird ask skuzzy.

If it's not accepted "officially", we could look into having it built into our desert terrains as the default. It would have to pass a quality test first, though.

I believe skins have to be tied with the historical units the vehicles/planes served with, which is one of the reasons why the black P-38J skin was pulled (no P-38J ever had a black paint scheme) when it was realized it had accidently gotten through.
ack-ack

Here's what I found on camouflaged Firefly:

The Polish 1st armoured division had this paint scheme. (Sorry, I dug this info up quickly. I don't have time to research my books further on where this version saw action.)

This one I'm not sure about what model sherman this is. It also could be just an artist's rendition of a winter camo for the sherman. Would be nice though.

And this one looks like the Sherman M4A3.

This one just looks menacing. Another fun one if it fits into HTC's criteria.
I'm not a tank expert. Hopefully somebody can come in here and offer some solid answers to this question.
Obie.

The Sherman with the mean face was only for Korea to scared the peolpe off.

Bottom 2 Shermans are M4A3E8s with the updated turret and 76mm gun.
The gray/snow camo Sherman is a short barrel 75 M4A3
There isn't a lot of variations in Firefly camo. There were some snow camo. Fencer did a couple skins for Firefly's

I'd really like to see a snow camo on the firefly and the tiger. I saw that USRanger had incorporated a winter tiger skin in his terrain. Then i looked at T34/76 and one of its skins just says winter would it be possible just to take one of the tigers from the russian front and just put a white wash paint on it?

the 2nd Pic looks like marine corp version with the assault flame thrower that would also explain the paint scheme for assault on volcanic Islands such as Iwo Jima
