here is a log of my recent emails with vimeo
#1: Dear john smith:
Your video 'Untitled (2048614)' has been removed from Vimeo because it violates our policies.
Vimeo does not allow porn, commercial videos, gaming videos, videos that incite hatred, or videos that you did not make yourself ("I have permission from the creator" does not count as making it).
Regards,
Vimeo
#2 so what was the problem so I want make the same mistake again? Also why is
my other video still up. It is no different
#3 As stated in that email, we do not allow gaming videos.
Best wishes,

# 4 I don't think you paid attention to my email. We are in the process of
deleting all of these videos, so of course there are still ones up. We
cannot wave a magic wand and make them all found and deleted, we have
to spend many hours deleting them and it's a very time-intensive
process.
Best wishes,

#5 ok I will help you and inform my community we are not wanted. Good Luck in
the future.
#6 Thanks, I would honestly appreciate that.
Best wishes,

thats amazing. gamers are net-savvy, use online shopping to a large degree and are generally younger with disposable income. thats a significant demo for online trade, why the hell would they want to junk such an important market? :huh
-
They must live in Math City, Holmes. :D
-
Try Veoh.com for hosting, they have a gaming community.
-
With a name like vimeo, why would anyone go there anyway???
RC
-
That's rediculous...
-
They don't take kindly to us, huh?
-
Let's upload 300 videos of sheep herding. :devil
-
When Stage 6 closed down, they recommended viemo.
-
I just checked, I still have my vids from AHII on there LOL!
Can't HTC just give them the OK?
-
I don't think HTC has anything to do with this. HTC likes it when we publish videos; free advertising.
I think it has to do with Vimeo's target market, and gaming in general is not part of that strategic positioning; or so it seems... Who seriously uses this like YouTube is used? They should be begging for more customers like us.
-
Vimeo = Fail
-
I imagine they fear some type of copyright infringement with either the Video game maker or possibly copyrighted material used with the movies (i.e. songs or what not).
-
You guys should use exposureroom.com . You can get better quallity then vimeo
-
Vimeo = Fail
You bet.
-
Used to put mine on youtube, No problems...Tuk151 :rock
-
They dont want a large group of gamers filling their storage with games. They deleted my account and not just the videos. No review no warning no discussion just deleted.
-

Management change perhaps? Could explain why they once accepted gaming videos, and now don't.
-
:noid..........I think vimeo might be terrorists.............. :uhoh
-
thats funny, I haven't heard a thing from vimeo... It may have to do w/ a song using bad language... who knows *shrug* :frown:
-
I didnt add any songs to my videos. Once they find out you have game videos and you havent added a comment about being a developer or running tests officially they will delete the videos or the account with no appeal.

Nope, they reccomended Veoh, not Vimeo.... but the former, to me, it's not better than the latter. I'm still hoping that someone will resurrect Stage6, sooner or later. It was the best video-sharing site ever seen on the net. :(
-
Well... shoot, I hate having to upload stuff for mediafire :(
-
Whats wrong with Veoh? other then the advertisments?
-

It's a bummer, too. I got my higher speed Internet after they shut down, there would have been no waiting. :cry

I don't like having to download their program to watch videos. With Stage6 it was something 90% of the people already had on PCs, with Veoh it's something totally new. And I think that the quality of videos is lesser with Veoh, Stage6 allowed single files up to 2 GB of size... just imagine what kind of quality you could have!
-
Wait You mean to say you need to download something in order to watch this film? (F86 Sabre landing in Bradenton - texture tests)
http://www.veoh.com/videos/v16390888brW74e3F
-
I didn't have to download anything for Veoh?? :huh
-
Veoh has a Veoh TV or something for high res and faster downloads but you dont have to have it.
-
When I subscribed, soon after Stage6 death, if you wanted to see videos longer than 5 minutes you had to download VeohTV... maybe they changed it, now, I can't say for sure, the video you linked is 3 minutes long.
-
The thing that is really awful is that uploading to Veoh is much slower also. I am uploading a 7 minute something video so you can test it again (I dont think you have to watch the whole thing) and I will upload the link when its finished.

-
I updated my FSX terrain tonight and was just blown away by the changes. I mean I was just lost navigating because nothing was the same. I was too high approaching my destination so I did the slip thing like I do in AH only this time I ran into something the Sabre guys warned me about but I didnt think I would ever see...
A blowout... a little harder and it would have been really bad!

Thanks for the link, Chalenge, it looks like they get rid of that stupid time limit. I'll give Veoh another try, subscription is still active, if I don't have to download any program, it could be good. :)

What about using Filefront? www.filefront.com
-
photobucket also does streaming

If I'm recalling this correctly, they don't offer the option of viewing the films on their website, it's download only.
