This piece is the most beautiful work of art ive had the honor to hear.

I come from a "southern Gospel" and bluegrass background. My Great grandfather's 1st cousin was Bill Monroe. (the grand father of bluegrass)
But growing up with a father that toured in gospel groups and having a hippie mom, i learned to love ALL music.
I'm personally in to Heavier music. Like tool ect ect.
but classical is my escape from everything.
Great song BTW Diablo :aok

Classical has to be the best genre of music. I actually like to listen to classical when playing AH2. Just brings that added bit of relaxation. Unfortunately, my wife doesn't get classical.

Forgot to add the follow up, pt. 4:

I played a wind band version of this in college. It doesn't do the orchestral piece justice. I think the links is a bit slower than an actual recording I have conducted by the composer, but it's one of the most beautiful things I've ever heard. :cry
This one (http://saxman.xwlegacy.net/Music/Auld.mp3) the above-mentioned wind band (all teachers, students, and amateurs) played in our conductor's final performance before he retired. This was sight-read AT the concert. No rehearsal before, and he had no idea we were going to do it.
And I can't leave out these. I LOVED the music from the Lord of the Rings, and these have to be two of my favorites. I don't have the piece from the Charge online anywhere, but that's #1.
The Crack of Doom (http://saxman.xwlegacy.net/Music/Crack_of_Doom.mp3) - The Ring goes into the Fire. This has to be one of the most AMAZING choir pieces I've ever heard, but traditional OR film.
Bilbo's Song (http://saxman.xwlegacy.net/Music/Bilbos_Song.mp3) - The very last piece that ends the "Fan Credits" of the Return of the King: Extended Edition

My wife plays the Viola for the Livonia Symphony Orchestra. My fav. composer would be Tchaikovsky followed closely by Strauss.

Though, it was at its best when it was used in The Right Stuff. Great piece of music mixed in with footage of an F-104 :D
Hey Ridley, ya got any Beeman's?

Gollum's Song is interesting. It's not exactly dissonant, but there's a tortured quality to it that's very haunting.

The BEST moment in the entire trilogy. Both musically and story-wise. I can't hear this queue (or watch this scene) without tearing up.
