Title: pressing g wont lower landing gear???

I am getting a feel for this game but every time I try to land, changing planes doesn't change the problem, I push 'G' for landing gear and nothing happens. so I putt around a while trying anything I can think of and finally belly in to end game.
Help, please..

You are too fast. Be at ~180mph or slower before trying to lower your gear.

A power off tight turn is a quick way to slow down.

i do da "slide" that is, opposite rudder of your ailerons ex. right aileron, full left rudder. and no power, bleeds speed quickly, and helps in a hurry when you need to get right back up,  :salute :salute

there are very complete instructions for a combat airfield landing in the help/training section. rtfm ;)
