Is there still support and desire in the community for the ability to switch to a Metric gauged instrument panel in aircraft originally equipped with them? I'm curious as I've not seen any related posts for quite some time.

Yep, I'd sure like to see them. But like HTC has stated many times, they will probably not implement them.

Yup, option for metric gauges would be great.
Ive never liked flying with this unlogical MPH,feet, yard system. Numbers go in no clear and logical relation to each other. Its easier (at least for me) to E fight with metric meters. + it would be realistic for most countries planes.

Yes please!! (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)

I'd sure like to see them as an optional download and as for the confusion caused I think that's just an unimaginative excuse for not iiimplementing Metric Instruments in those cockpits who had them.

Oh yeah! Think about how many German, Japanese and Italian a/c are missing them.

Not to mention that a large number of pilots fly this game from europe... WTH do they know about our 'arcane' furloughs per fortnight measuring system.
I'd love it if we had 3 options: Metric gauges in the planes that had them, 'everything english', 'everything metric'
(including range info)
Mind you, I'd rather see actual colored arcs on the air speed indicator. And this is a bit of a 'nit picky' feature. Bigger fish to fry, and all that.

One thing to keep in mind about this is that these gauges are part of a 3D model of the aircraft and not part of a bitmapped cockpit. I would think you would have to model each aircraft with metric or non metric gauges. That would mean you would have to download the version you wanted or have multiple installations of Aces High if you wanted to change around from one to the other.
Personaly I would rather see additions to the game in the form of aircraft or features than have them spend the time making different aircraft with metric or non metric gauges.
Of course I prefer the non metric gauges myself, the units are more familiar to me.

I dont miss different systems. We had this on WB. Only made it confusing when changing to a plane with a different system.

To to avoid confusion why dont we have the most widespread system in the world. metric.
Ofcourse I think historical gauges would be best.

My guess is that the gauges are textures which should be relatively easy to change - kinda like skins in any other computer game. The needle's movement is of course a different thing which should be re-done, since the scale on non-metric and metric gauges is different... But since it was done already in that other game (by HT himself, right?), I don't see why it couldn't be done here as well. Couldn't -> wouldn't, that's the real issue, right? In any case, I hope this issue will be adressed in the future. I agree that there are more important things to work on at the moment. (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)

No use guys, we all know that LW and other non allied planes won't ahve the same bennefits as the allied planes do, 1k kills (just happened to me) historical gauges etc etc.
WE can whine about it all we want but it's not gonna happen.
