There is a range just 1/4 of a mile north of TMS that allows .50 cals on it.
I thought a .50 cal has a range of 1 mile they say 3 miles.

I hope she is alright.

I think they have an effective range of 1 mile but could cause damage without accuracy much further depending on alot of factors. I am sure some gun fanatic will post the exact specs here shortly.

A .50 can kill a lightly armored vehicle at a mile. I doubt its a 'lunatic' but why someone (anyone) fires a round into the air is beyond me. Maybe a misfire from a target gun but these reporters seem to act like this woman was targeted and thats ridiculous.

I noticed that myself in the report. The range I was talking about is a small range just north of there. I have been there a couple of times and I have seen a .50 cal there but i never saw it shot. I do know from being in the service that a round can go were ever it wants to in a ricochet.
