I don't know how much coverage this has gotten in the rest of the states but, after 28 years, this sums it up nicely.
2nd baseman, #25, Chase Utley balls it up into a simple statement. Years of pent up frustration finally released.
Notice the crowds reaction (difference in volume) after he repeats himself

The rest of the states were expecting Philadelphia to go up in smoke from all the rioting that we swore was going to happen if they won it.
Throwing crap and swearing at 4 year-olds wearing the other team's jersey? Seriously, that city collectively needs therapy. BIG time.

Ain't that the truth. Despicable. And it is not just at the Series. Regular home games during the season for baseball, football and probably every other sport as well. Aren't the Eagles the only team in the country to have a jail built into the stadium? And don't they have a judge on site during the games to deal with issues?

The Honorable Seamus McCaffrey :aok

I can't imagine that there are no other cities in the country or world that have unruly fans :noid
Would YOU bring your children to a championship game wearing the opposing team's jersey, I wouldn't

Opposing fans deserve just as much respect as the people wearing your own team's jersey. It's a VERY poor reflection on your city when you have people intentionally dumping beer on four year olds during games (another one from Philly).

While this may be true, it is not reality.
It only takes a few drunks to really spoil the party.
But.. Philly isn't the only city full of arse holes. We just have the most proficient ones.
