Whats different in that version ? Didn't see it before

I think the Vista version works a bit different due to the way vista handles the file system. As for the game, they should be the same.

It is the same download, but the Vista link contains additional installation instructions for Vista users.

I.E.: Install in a directory other then the default to avoid irritation and redness.

I downloaded the "Vista" version, but had trouble with screen freezing up, problems with graphics, and several other irratitions. I checked the BB and apparently there have been several who have struggled with the Vista version. Not until I selected the "run as Windows 98/Windows ME" compatability option did I get the game to be functional. Still have problems with white screen that slowly populates with graphics in the online areas, any suggestions?

Would need to see the DXDIAG output.  There are a ton of things you can do to improve things, but the DXDIAG output is the best place to start.

I'm trying out AH 2 and so far the Vista version is really plagued with graphics issues. I'm reasonably savvy technically speaking and my system is pretty well optimized. Latest drivers, etc.

I'll try running this in compatibility mode and see if it improves. Otherwise not much fun flying around on CAP and suddenly seen the moon and stars flying all over the place.

Id say that there is about a third of the people playing are using vista with out game issues. Check out THIS THREAD (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/index.php/topic,200949.0.html) for a lot of tips and tricks to get your computer to play nice too.

I've just decided to /uninstall...but thanks for your comment.

I'm running every other application I own not only flawlessly but with rocket-speed as well. This one just seems to be a bit sensitive and these days if I have to work to play a game I'll just find another.
