Title: Who are you?

These days there are many different ways to say "here I am". Many of you may have a home page or a myspace ect...

My recent aliases' are Giant-(in Late War) & betty------> (in mid war) Hi Betty ;)
I will return to Triumph once I can use my arm/Start working again.... bout 3 months

I live in Anaheim, Southern California. I am a realtor w/ Re/Max. I am 40 y.o. and I Run a BMX Racing Team that I myself race on. I Recently broke my arm and tore all the muscles in my shoulder. For the past 2 months I have been learning to play with one arm.

If you care for others to put a face to your Game I.D. Post it... :rock

And so it began ..back when I posted on the GEnie bulletin board.
I loved pokin fun at the new guys who came online, because we had all been there.

I was *so* jazzed to find a place I could go and actually learn *why* a Mustang was a good fighter,
..how the Spitfire saved Britain, ..why close escort was such a bad idea, ..all the other things I had read about growing up.
I'm not just an airplane nut.. more of an air war history enthusiast.. the more I read the more I wanted to find out.

When I first began online I was in aerospace, fresh outta the USAF,
..on the production line for the B1-b as defensive avionics lead tech an lovin it.

When layoffs got crazy in the late '80's I went back to school to learn CAD Engineering..still playin AW
..got a call one day from Jonathan 'Blue' Baron and got hired by Kesmai as Lead Artist for AW.

When AW got shutoff, I went to Papyrus Racing games, NASCAR was a real challenge to get into,
..I learned it's not just 'go fast, turn left' :)
French company bought Papyrus, laid off a bunch of folks, the guys who made the game left,
..I was asked to come work on Falcon 5.0. -sigh- ..G2Interactive failed to make payroll after several months.

Did a stint as detailer for re-bar installation on construction projects, oh sure it's fun ..
..Frik-kin 17 projects on my desk .. every little detail of building code .. changes hourly sometimes,
and I had to go out and physically *find* the foreman's rebar now an then? .. screw THAT!!
(I didn't wear mud boggers nor did I drive one)

Nowadays.. ima Nurse, an lovin it.
Recommend it to anyone lookin for short school times, hi job satisfaction, etc.

..and ..I'm still good at flight sims

I own a 69 Bonnie, with a rebuilt T120r engine, I ve been playin this game since 2001 and I still suck.

I have a single engne private liscence, with night and float rating, not yet IFR certified.I like long walks on the bietch, (being short and all), and would be a porn star if it weren't for the cold studios.

My goals are:
to have all my teeth, a pet that feeds it's self and a gal that can't smell.

Wait, that mighta be wishes....

..ok, crap,, I wish I understood the difference between a goal and a wish.

I'm 25, born and raised in Lancaster NY (near Buffalo) and I've been playing Aces High since mid 2003.
I go through spells on what I like to fly, sometimes the P-40, P-47 (when I was with the 56th it was a blast!), LA-5, F4U...ect.
I'm a Laser operator at a Machine Shop that makes equipment for the oil and minning industry, I also hold the 2nd amendment dear to my heart.......

I started out finishing up year twelve and going into the army as an apprentice. That was the start of a long series of mistakes. The Army and I parted company pretty quickly, I transferred my indentures to the local power company and as I completed my apprenticeship I did electrical engineering by correspondence. By the time I finished that I HATED it. I'd have been happy to never turn another screw behind a switchboard for as long as I lived, and apart from a couple of small exceptions, I've stuck to that sentiment.
After that I bummed about in Uni and picked up a B.A., a PPL single day VFR and I started swinging off spanners in a motorcycle shop. A friend of mine was selling up his motorcycle wrecking business and I bought up half his stock. I set up a nice little 1/2 and 1/2 motorcycle repair and spray painting work shop under the house my ex and I lived in.
I soon bought an old bus which I fitted out as a mobile home and we went on the road, during which time I worked in a junkyard as a yard foreman and a real estate salesman until I ran afoul of the local coppers doing 90mph in a 100 zone (60mph) on my old CB350/4 trying to bet back from work to see my new son who had just been born 2 days earlier. I'd just told the real estate company to stick it because they demanded I put them before my family. :lol right.... like THAT is gonna happen!
I then moved waaay down south and my first job there was driving a tow truck for a very dodgy auto repair shop. I quickly figured out what they were up to and told them to stuff it. My next job was as service manager for Nilfisk/Gerni where I picked up a certificate in hydraulic fitting, after that I drove a forklift working as a heat treatment operator in a foundry. My next business decision was a bad one, I took the chemistry knowledge I got from side courses I did at uni and began to do some work for various "businesses". Turns out I was damn good at it and my services became the centre for some very nasty behind the scenes plays. During this time my eldest daughter was born and my partner and I had separated after a bad situation with many causes, some of which were mine but primarily I was driven away by her greed ( This girl could shop like you would not believe, she once spent 25k in ONE FRICKIN DAY! :O ) I left with nothing but the clothes on my back. She burned most of what she couldn't sell out of spite. Even my Flight logs, my qualification certificates, my text books and anything else she could fit into the incinerator.
I hitchhiked the 2500 odd km back up to my parent's place and it was there I met Sarah (well we met online, but that's where I was when we met. We were married 7 months later and I picked up the spanners again, working as an Automobile club service patrol, requalifying as a Front End Specialist and now working at a GoodYear Service Centre making cars go straight. We now have a 2.5 yr old daughter and living in a very nice beachside town on the coast.
Next year I'm getting my PPL back. It's been a long time coming, I still get as much stick time with friends as I can. I'm also desperately trying to shoehorn time and money into building my KR2S. http://krnet.org <= check 'em out, these things rock! :rock

I am 23. I love competitive fighting. I train for mixed martial arts competitions, currently doing some pure boxing training til the end of the year. I have been a member of The Few since I started playing some years back. I have a slight womanizing problem. I play poker for a living (again, and no im not a millionaire you can't borrow money). I have an unlikable personality because I pretty much hate people, except for a chosen few who are tolerable. it's ok though cause I can always punch someone in the face if they dont like me. im not that violent though err... lets not talk about the demise of my ms sidewinder 2.

I lived in ireland for too many years, currently back in sweden but im likely to be heading off to brazil or washington (state) next year. even though im mean and evil, don't be afraid to say hello, i cant punch people through the computer anyways. well, i will probably put your house on fire at some point. im a cool guy like that.

After high school i plan to go into the Air Force, my main reason for this is the predator drone program. If i cant get into that ill be just happy as a mechanic working on planes. You'd be surprised how not smart some of the 40-some PhDs I work with are, when it comes to computers and just plain common sense. I'm unmarried and try to stay young unlike my friends who, although similar in age to me, are now old and boring.

Besides Aces High, I've been known to play World of Warcraft, but I've 90% weaned myself off that game.

In the real world, I captain and pitch for my slow pitch softball team, we're pretty dang good and play in the highest division my town has to offer. I also like to play paintball when the opportunity presents itself.

Spectating sports are also important to me, I root for the four major pro sports teams out of Detroit, where I grew up (even the winless Lions). For college sports, I root exclusively for Purdue in every sport, but I'm only an active fan of basketball and football (although I went to a number of softball games last season 'cause I knew one of the coaches and one of the players through my league).

Tailgating before Purdue football games deserves a special mention... my crew and I have a very nice tailgate before every home game. My brother (who went to Michigan, my most hated university) got married during the Purdue-Wisconsin game where Kyle Orton fumbled the game away. Even though I would have seen us lose but missed it 'cause I was at my brother's wedding, I would have rather have been at the game, it was the high water mark of Purdue football, and who knows if we'll ever return in my lifetime. I will hold a grudge forever I think.

Ladies, don't make your men get married during football season. Men, don't let them make you.

lol no I'm not, using these old Dasiy rifles that we have. We are getting new ones though, don't what they look like, but our new CSM (Command Sergent Major) had some sport air rifles when he was in Germany, I hope its them. :D

Thanx, i am very proud of my family, I don't deserve them. but for some reason God has blessed me very much.

As far as female-male ratio thing goes, don't be so quick to judge me brave, every night I curl up in a ball and cry myself to sleep because of it ;)

And it is cool putting faces to the ingame names <S> to every one who has participated.

haha yea that's one of the most hilarious things with italian-americans. i acknowledge that they have italian heritage.. but when they say 100% italian/proud to be from _ITALIA_ bla bla and don't speak a lick of italian it just makes you go hmm... if you're that proud why teh hell havent you learned italian

Btw, you should come here: you'll see that the "Mediterranean" type, as defined in your words, it's just a part of the population. If you think that everyone in Italy has olive skin and brown/dark hair, you may find some surprise.

if someone lives in america, only speaks english and was born there, they're 100% of an entirely different nationality? chyea, of course. northern Italians, who were not conquered by the moores in the dark ages, tend to retain the lighter hair lighter skin of their ancestors. but the southern Italians Spanish Greeks and other Mediterranean peoples who were conquered by the moores have had their bloodlines permanently altered. you say you are part Spanish, well that also makes you part Moore, that is where your dark hair and dark skin tone come from. that is your bloodline.

do you describe yourself as Moore? or do you describe yourself as Italian?

i doubt that very many people in Europe, America, Canada ect can claim a true blood decent without a mixing of some type somewhere in their history, we have been intermixing for hundreds of years. so now its become a matter of your parents names. if your parents both have Italian last names then your heritage is generally seen as Italian, same for Greek French ect.

a friend of mine was pure Irish, black as any light skinned African American, but pure Irish by heritage. his parents both had historical lineage in ireland going back 300 plus years. but his family also has interracial mixing going back as far as they can trace, so in their coming together the genetic lines created a dark skinned Irishman. if you ask him he will tell you he is Irish, he doesn't say African Irish, just Irish.

to look at him you would come to a different conclusion than his family history would show. does this make him less Irish?

so again my point was not to insult or degrade anyones bloodlines, but to point out that in today's day and age guessing their lineage by their looks is very inaccurate.

as far as language goes, well that's all in where you grew up. I'm from new hampshire, everyone spoke English here when i was a child so there was no need to learn the French that my farther speaks fluently. does that mean my heritage is less French because i didn't want to learn the language? or that I'm less German because my mom didn't learn the language of her farther and then pass it down to me?

if the Italian part of his history is what he chooses to embrace and be proudest of then why judge him on it?

where ever your ancestors come from is really of no value.

be proud of yourself as a person, live with integrity, treat others with the level of respect that you want to be treated with and hold your head up, everything else is just window dressing.

My real name is Betty. I live in Michigan and I am a single mom with 2 kids. My daughter Alyssa is 13 and my son Devan is 8. I been playing AH way too long and currently I let a friend fly under my account cuz I'm bored with the game and enjoying real life. I am in college finishing up my BA in Criminal Justice. thats not my monitor, thats my tv, its small i know but when u dont watch much tv it doesnt matter what size it is. i mostly only have a tv in the living room for the rugrats :)

my son wants to get into karate i think it would be a great thing for him to learn and my friend teaches it so i get discount lessons for him :)

i'm just gonna wait till he is 10 years old so that he is old enuff to understand what it means to learn it and that he cant just go around beating up kids hehe

stick her in a krav maga class. all about the eye and groin strikes. if i wasn't training for competitive fighting I'd be doing krav maga, that toejam rules :)

haha i know, but to someone who has trained muay thai purely i find it quite hilarious. all krav maga is besides the thaiboxing/grappling/weapon handling is "gruesome shieeeeet". I mean, you could go train mma.. get ur mt n grappling n a weapon self defense class.. or you could train krav maga and learn how to rip someones eyeballs out tape em to ur knuckles and repeatedly punch someone in the balls with em.

I wouldn't worry about that Betty ... any school worth it's salt will drum into the wee ones that what they are taught is not to be used aggressively, under any circumstance ... school yard, siblings, etc. I taught kids for over 6 years and never had one purposely use what they were taught outside of the school.

We have kids starting at the age of 5 ... at that age it's more about discipline, and not so much the art. Classes for that age group are 45 minutes due to the fact that the attention span wanes after that time.
