3.  What is the purpose of World Pointing and World Relative?
World Pointing sets your position relative to the world coordinates and keeps you pointed at a target object.
World Relative is the same thing, but allows you to stay pointed in the same direction.

I hope that helps, if not let me know.

thanks, how about expanding on how to use it. I don't seem to be doing it right. What type of shots should I be getting using these features.

Search for the tutorial, it's around here somewhere. Gets into more detail on these things.

World Pointing is great for setting up flyby shots, where the camera is stationary and pans to follow an object.
Roll film until the halfway point of your shot and pause it.  Go to external view and use the movement keys to move a little ways away from your plane.  Hit Grab Position for both start and end - don't worry about Grab Angle. Set start time back to where you want to start, and end time where you want to end - try a duration of 15 seconds.  When you play the shot, you should see a nice flyby with the plane in full view the whole time.

Try the same thing with World Relative, but point yourself where you want to look and hit Grab Angle along with Grab Position for start and end.  You'll be staring at the same point in space and the plane will come into the frame, fly by, and exit the frame.

I don't want to toot my own horn, but I use both techniques quite a bit in my first real movie "Killshots"  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DpeizpYMu1U (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DpeizpYMu1U).  The opening scene uses a couple of flybys with World Pointing and one with World Relative.

I created a couple of PDF documents for each type of flyby shot, and included the spit takeoff .ahf file.  You can download them from my squad's site:

Hope they help.
