I think a new map would be an excellent idea for this game...the pie map with its three wedges creates a real "Air Quake" effect.
Can we have a pseudo Battle-of-Britain map or an "islands" map--I don't know what the real answer is here--maybe make the bases farther apart to increase engagement altitutes. I guess I'm tired of the "vulch pattern" and the takeoff furball effect. Let's have the fields spaced farther apart with something of strategic value other than fields themselves in the middle (a city? factories? a Pokemon card shop?) for the buffs to bomb, and the jabos to rocket and strafe.
I guess taking off, flying up to 15-20k, and looking for the nearest furball to jump into isn't really holding much interest anymore...
To be honest, I haven't played AH for some time...has this changed? I know the map is the same...
I find the game has a ton of promise, and I like the graphics, FMs, and the people behind the game...I just want to have either more historically based battles (like the old AW evening missions) or more strat built into the game. I also understand that HTC plans to put some of this stuff into the game at some point--I'd just hope that it is on a more accelerated schedule so the game becomes more fun to play, and increases the depth of play. I don't think more planes necessarily increases the fun factor as much as what can be done with those planes. (But please put in the A-20 Havoc when you get the chance--and the Jug) ;-)
<S> and congratulations on a fine game.

When the map editor is released, I'm sure we won't run out of candidates for a new arena map!
I'll make a finnish map, thats for sure (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)

Good point...when that happens, there will be a good variety of maps...
But I would like to see something different at this stage just to change up the game a bit.
<S> all!
