Title: Saitek X-52 Pro
Post by: Serenity on November 09, 2008, 07:01:28 PM
Alright, I've decided to splurge and get a new stick now that this one is crapping out. Im looking to get a Saitek X-52 Pro, but it seems real pricey. Does anyone know where to find a good price on one? eBay has none, and Walmart goes for $150. Anyone know anywhere cheaper?

I was really liking the sound of the pro over the regular.

God I hate living in Hawaii. The shipping is going to cost $35 :( Either way, it comes out to about $150

Must be a horrible thing to live there.

If you want, we can trade.  Come here and live in Philly and get good shipping prices.

I'll twist my wife's arm and draaaag her out to Hawaii to live, even though we'll have to deal with those damn shipping costs  :furious

I'm sort of in the same boat as you Seren, my CH Pro Pedals and CH Combatstick cost me double the price because I live in England.

Have you looked at the CH website yet mate? I've been told that CH products last decades, if your going to splurge then go for the Ferrari. :D

Why am I the only one with NO problems whatsovever with my regular X52? Everyone's seems to be wearing out left and right...I've had mine for 4 years or so now and no problems. Only thing I see with the Pro is it's mostly metal...

Eff it. Ive got some cash.

I just ordered the X-52 Pro with express shipping, it should be in by Wedensday. I know it has the cool screen that supposedly can be integrated with various games. Does this work with Aces High? And does anyone have any cool things they like to use it for?

Agreed, CH Way out lasts Saitek but you do get that at a premium.  One thing about CH though is that if somethng does go wrong they sell the internal parts so you can replace them at very low cost.

With that in mind, and knowing you work with joysticks, would you have any use for two pretty-good-condition Saitek X-45s? They're completely functional except for one issue: Both of their throttles have failed. Everything else works perfectly. Could you use them for spare parts or something?

only problem with the X52 pro, is profiles... they all need to be-done as the X52 profiles will NOT work, and so far there is no conversion program...

Not a problem for me as ive never had an X-52. Does anyone have an AH profile for their Pro? I cannot get my programming software to work :(

I'd imagine it's  mmuch the same as the X52, but never having programmed mine I'm afraid I won't be able to offer any help.
I just used the software to set the times on my MFD and set everything else up in game.

Yeah, I keep forgetting where the rudder is. It feels so much like the X-45 when youre just resting your hands on it, that when i need to use rudder, I squeeze the throttle, wonder for a second why nothing is happening, and then remember I have to twist the stick, lol. It is a bit loose and it feels like I have a LOT less aileron control... but on the other hand, it kinda backs up the thought that the reason I suddenly started sucking was my stick. With the St-290 I found I would just suddenly stall and fall out of the sky. Never happened with the X-45 and now the X-52 Pro feels MUCH more stable :)

Thinking about some pedals..need to know if there is any "positive feedback" in the pedals, ie, any resistance OR do they just flop around as they are pressed on??

Also , in you opinion, who is the better manufacturer?

Heck with it, I put it up.  Limited amount of items for the time being.... working on the Excel to my database transfer of items info.  Doing tests today.  If there is a component you need and it is not listed (again trying to get the spreadsheet and database seeing each other)  ask me and I will let you know price.

get the saitek peddals, they rock, but now after having my x52 for about a year and half i, when i buy a new one it will be CH gear. or the couger, the x52 is just too flimsy, even with a little fix to firm up the spring.

CH Is by far the better product.  All reviews give Seitek good marks but in the end its quality and endurance and CH does that hands down.
