I didn't see a thread about this, but is anyone else having any problems with the Mosquito Mk VI? Flying it is no problem, but every time I look at one (friendly or enemy) my computer starts to stick and drag really bad. It's very aggravating when I lose a dogfight by one just because every time I get around him...I just lag.
Any reason why I'm having this problem...or is my pc just crazy? =)

If the problem only occurs when that one plane is in view perhaps you have a corrupted file related to it.
Try saving your settings by copying the settings folder and reinstalling?
-
Ok, I'll try that.
Thanks bro!
-
Well, reinstalling the game didn't work, but thanks for the suggestion.
-
Some people report the same kind of frame rate hit when i get near them in my p39Q.
I dont know why, and i dont know how to fix it.
-
Blue i used to have this exact same problem, and every time a saw a mossy, i would start lagging, same with a few other planes too. I did fix it though, what i did was add more RAM and after that i never saw it again.
-
Well, it's weird though. I have 2 gigs already. My brother that plays on here (blue19) plays on a weaker pc than I do...and he only has 1 gig. And he says he has no problem with it. Weird huh?

Well its YOUR PC with the problem, whats the differences between yours and your brothers? are one of you using custom sounds? Does one of you run Vista? Does one of you run the high rez pak, or higher texture count?
You might want to kick back your settings to what your brother has and see if the problem disappears. If so turn things back up untill you find it again. That will give you a clue as to "where" the trouble is.

My Dell 1501 laptop doesn't like the Mosquito or the film viewer and has trouble with both of them.

I know it's MY PC, I knew that already. lol. But I do run Vista...so that might be the problem.

A DXDIAG output would be helpful.

Sorry Skuzzy, haven't been on the pc that much to reply, but what is a DXDIAG?
-
From teh Windows desktop, got to Start->Run, then type in "DXDIAG" and press <ENTER>. Use the "Save All Information" button to save the DXDIAG information to a text file and email it to me or post the text file.
-
I tried posting it on here, but it says The message exceeds the maximum allowed length (10000 characters) I tried going into the support link on your profile to email it to you, but it's telling me I have to install some kind of program. But I'll post the first part of it though. Hope it makes more sense to you. =)

Right-click on the Aces High II start-up ICON, then go to "Properties", the select the "Compatibility" tab, check the option to run the game in compatibility mode, then set the mode to "Windows 98/ME".
According to DXDIAG, you are using a "Generic Monitor". This is not going to work well. You really need to set the monitor to the correct one matching your monitor.
Also note, your computer has a fairly low end video card. You need to go into the game's "Video Settings" and set the "Maximum Texture Size" to 256 and let the cache rebuild.
You really need to clean up the Vista background processes as well. At least knock out ReadyBoost, SuperFetch, and disable UAC. I assume you made sure to NOT install the game in the "Program Files" folder of the C: drive as well.

How do I do that? Delete them?
-
In the "Administration Tools", open the "Services" ICON to disable SuperFetch and ReadyBoost.
To disable UAC (User Access Control), open msconfig, then select the last tab and find the entry that says something about disabling UAC. Select it, then hit the launch button.
