Title: Need your prayers
Post by: Larry on November 14, 2008, 04:59:07 AM
Last night my two year old cousin Gunner Wade Bozeman was was admitted into the hospital after falling into the pond in the backyard. I don't have the full facts yet but from what Iv been told is that his mother put him in his play room while she was doing laundry. He started walking a short while ago so he is very curious. He got over one of those things you put in your doorway or at the end of stairs and went through a hole in the screen door, they think to go play with the dogs. By the time his mother found him they say he had been in the water for about five minutes and had stopped beathing. Thank god she knew CPR and got him beathing again while she called 911. When the paramedics got there they called in life flight to get him to a hospital in Houston. He was put in critical condition when he was admitted. They ran tests and the CAT scan showed that his brain looked good but he has an infection in his lungs. The doctors say that he's going to make it but they are keeping him in a medically induced coma for now to keep the beathing tubes in.

Please keep the Bozeman family in your prayers through this troubling times.

Every parent's nightmare.  What great fortune that his mother knew CPR; a lesson to us all.

He's got good TK bloodlines; I've got great faith he'll be fine.  Something quite similar happened to me when I was just a couple of years older, and hey, I'm fine!  Hang in there, TK, give the family all of our best wishes.  The kid is going to need you to show him a good time when he gets older, because his parents are going to place some pretty severe restrictions on him henceforth, I suspect.

Heavenly Father, We pray this morning for Gunner Bozeman. Father we ask that you bring him back to health if it be your will. We are thankful that you guided his mother in administering CPR when she found him in the pond and we ask that you guide the Doctors and nurses and give them the tools to bring Gunner back to health. We ask also that you give the family comfort and strength to deal with this situation and I pray that their faith will strengthen them.
We ask these things in Jesus name, Amen

Prayers given. If it is any help we had a kid go under in his stroller, into the Lake, and our fire Dept. dive guys pulled him out after a full 15 mins in the water. CPR was given at the scene and he was revived. After a long recovery he left the Hospital 100% functional.

Im not a Doctor but it sounds like your little cousin is going to be fine. I read somewheres that there is something about the brains of children that allow them to survive such things. Amazing isnt it? http://www.childrensmemorial.org/newsroom/inthenews.aspx?newsID=3829

You really don't know how fortunate you are. We hear about "near drownings" and how CPR brought the child back. What we don't hear about is that often, very often, there is brain damage; usually quite severe.
I'm much pleased to hear about the CAT scan, I hope good news continues to come your way.

Praying for the little guy.  Brain damage is usualy the big thing in accidents like this, but it sounds like things so far are looking good in that area.  I hope his infection clears up and that they can take him out of the coma soon.

My best friend has a little nephew that just started walking a little while ago and is now a curious lad himself.  They've had to start useing two of those baby-stoppers setup ontop of the other now since he's figured out how to climb over just one.

Thank you guys. Yesterday the doctors said his brain wasn't getting enough oxygen with just the beathing tube so they put him on a lung bypass machine, and they don't know how long he will be on it. Right know they say its just a waiting game and we are hoping for the best.

Only thing we ask for is everyones hopes and prayers. Most of the family go to the hospital and spend the day there trying to comfort the parents and grandparents and I don't think the mother has left his side yet. I for one am not tough enough to see him in his condition so I stay home and call every hour or so for updates. Ill try to keep updates when I get any, but its just hard talking about it right now.

Its been a while since I updated you guys on the his situation. They took him off all the machines and breathing tubes five of six days ago. They think some time during this ordeal he suffered a stoke because the left side of his body is partially paralyzed, but with some physical therapy they say he will be fine in a few months. He's awake and saying what little words he knows like normal. They ran a few more tests and everything seems to be good. They are planing to discharge him sometime in the near future.
