Title: Taking a Ride
Post by: Patches1 on November 14, 2008, 01:55:08 PM

I thank SkatSr for taking the time to allow me to fly along with him in his P-51. I found myself instinctively using my inert controllers and realized that my movements were very close to SkatSr's...but far enough off to make the difference between living and dieing.

This morning I flew an F4U-1 and was killed prolly 4-5 times. What I encountered was P-51s...18Kish to the deck...but they were flying as pairs, not from the same Squadron, but mutually supporting as Country-mates.

It was exhilarating! Yes, I got killed, but the challenge of flying against 2v1, and witnessing good teamwork between wingmen was, and is, the reason I fly Aces High.

My salutes to SkatSr, Paladin3, HEELER.

I can't emphasize enough the benefits of doing a /.join  with someone to see things from their persepctive, and in conjunction with vox commentary would be a great tool for obtaining insights.

I always welcome poepl to /.join altho i don't use vox.

I agree, fighting against a nice working pair can be a boatload of fun, even if you are deceased at the end of the fight.
I rank SkatSr up there among the 51 pilots I've faced. In fact I remember Paladin3 killing me a few Tuesdays ago.
I missed his <S> on 200 but saw it when reviewing my philms. I owe him a <S> in return.

That is also a good practice when applying it to watching other peoples films.

I concur.
