Title: CH gameport HOTAS
Post by: moot on November 14, 2008, 04:56:55 PM
What's the secret to getting it to work with Windows XP?  The chanlg98 drivers don't install ("installation canceled" at the end), and the windows control panel doesn't have the CH throttle in its "Add..." list from the Game Controllers window.

The stick has a label on it that says "F-16 Fighter Stick", and that doesn't match what's in Windows' list. There's Fighterstick, Fighterstick Pro, Flightstick, and F16 Flightstick.  None of these seem to work: when I install drivers for each of those, and go to the calibration window, there's no response on screen if I move the stick or press its buttons.

What's the secret here?

I finally switched to the USB set because the new mother board I put in no longer allotted enough voltage to run through the keyboard plug the analog stick uses.  I started getting "no keyboard found" errors as well as the key board just turning off. I think as the manufacturers moved toward USB ports they decided they didn't need as much juice for other peripherals. The was a boot program someone made to program the stick, it was on the CH hanger BBS.
