Title: Is it my connection

I was wondering,  when multiple friendlies are in view my frame rate drops dramatically.  Even worse with a squad member in view.  Any ides?

Most likely your computer.  Low power CPU with a low end graphic card.

Run the Dxdaig and post the first third or so here, also tell us what setting (texture size and such) you use in the game. It does sound like a resource issue.
