Title: Whimpy Ack Gunners

Give the ack gunners some more brains , its way easy to avoid ack. Maybe make them more accurate unless they have recieved some damage from bombs , strafing , rockets ect. Then have them get a bit erratic in firing. Also the endless ammo supply or at least the ability to fire constantly seems odd since the barrels would turn into blobs of molten metal, have them take pauses after so many rounds (not all at the same time tho).

Ya gotta be kidding! It is hard enough to take a base when defended by only a few people; turbo ack can make it nigh impossible.

(The only suggestion I'd make is to have the acks fire in short bursts, rather than continuously.)

AFAIK acks will hit with all their bullets if only the plane goes straight, with exception of the 88's. This will happen all the way up to their max range. (try go in bomber at 8K over field for instance)

So the reason it is easy to avoid them with just a little manouvering at average range is that they simply hit where you WOULD be if you had kept going. It doesn't take much to get away from that very small target area.

What could be done was maybe adding a little dispersion to the guns, so their fire would basically be the kind of cone we have with the human controlled guns in the game.
This would make it possible for the acks to make a 'lucky' shot even when you are high and manouvering, but not so much dispersion that manouvering doesn't pay off, because the risk of getting hit is the same in either case.

Huh?  c'mon men !  u can do a barrel roll right thru a base from one end to the other and not get a scratch !  lets get some varying degrees of marksmanship with the gunners instead of radar (but slow to adjust) gunners.
