Post by: Spikes on November 17, 2008, 09:29:26 AM
Not really.

Second snowfall of the season, only a couple inches but hey, different from grass for a change! About 10-20 miles north of here they got 24 inches, schools closed, etc.

Snowing here in West Virginia today, I'm loving it! We're supposed to get 3-5 inches over the next few days.

it's a figmentation of your imagination processes. there cannot be any snow, as we have too much global warming for snow.

So use to Northern VA mountains, now down in NC we get no snow.  I hate it.  Although the 1/2" of snow canceling schools works well. :aok

Now I want my snow back! :D

Yeah I know right. Philly goes into a state of emergency if they get 1/4" of snow. Hehe.

The latest global warming hysteria called last month the warmest in history... Except they re-used August data instead of October for Russia and elsewhere, for the previous 2 months!  You know, by accident, since the guy who accidentally skewed the data for the 20th time is the same guy who's been beating the global warming drum in spite of actual scientific studies that even if we were in an unrecoverable warming trend (we're not), blaming it on CO2 and trying to convince people that CO2 (the stuff plants *breathe*) is some sort of poison, is the epitome of "bad science".

i remember driving back from orlando about 4 or 5 years ago. i hit snow in georgia. it got worse in south carolina, and by the time i hit dunn north carolina, i was going 30 mph on rt95. at that it felt waaayyyyy too fast. i found a hotel, and stopped for the night. came out in the am, and found 1/2 inch of ice on my car. took me a looonng time to get in it that morning. by 10am the highway still sucked. i hit VA, and the roads were nice, and i could get back up to speed. '

that was also the last time i drove to my brothers. cheaper and faster to fly.

What was that movie where the high schoolers were in NY and the dad - was it Dennis Quade? had to snow shoe in to save them at the frozen library....
Wasn't that movie theory based on global warning affects?

The results of global warming will not make it like the coast of Mexico, if you are going to trash a theory, the least you could do is to try to understand the theory.

soooo.....you're gonna critisize my wise arsed remark with a movie?

everyting i've read, they say that the average temp has increased by almost 3/4 of a degree since 1934(i think) and that this increase is melting the ice caps.

no one seems to want to realize, though, that it is cyclic.
 are we affecting it? absolutley!
are we causing it? absolutley not!

so...yes, i think i do understand the theory, without the help of dennis quaid. (or at least i think i do)

BTW....i remember that movie...i think it was " the day after tomorrow or something like that..it was pretty good

yes, we understand, global warming means it will get colder, it's so simple a cave man could figure it out.

Yep, was 'The Day After Tomorrow'.  Saw it a year or so ago, not too bad. :)

By tomorrow we have have to close everything, oh no, we had 5 minutes of snow!  City-wide panic, snow!  Or so it seems. :D

When I lived in Augusta Ga I learned that the real danger is not in the road conditions but in the other drivers on the road.  Being from Michigan, I know how to drive in snow and ice.  Let me tell you that the average Georgian does not.  I learned very quickly that if there was even a dusting of snow the best bet was to leave the car parked and only venture out because of necessity.  It was amazing and quite comical to see the reaction to winter weather in the south.

Carbon taxes should be applied to people that give speeches on global warming. CO2 emissions you know... we cant have that!  Too much hot air! :D
