Title: HT u didn't just tweak tiffie rollrate did you?
Post by: Vulcan on May 31, 2001, 03:24:00 PM
Comon share HT... what else was changed  (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif)

Changes I've noticed outside of the rollrate:
 - hard to pull out of dive
 - less prone to accelerated (hi speed) stalls, ie elevator less touchy
 - Hangs on its prop in vertical like a friggin F-104 now  (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)
 - less likely to spin (especially in hammerhead recovery)

Sure you guys have read Closterman's book "Grande Cirque"?
Those planes were not easy to fly.

Hi Vulcan

I've been having problems trying to pull out of a dive... I hardly ever crashed the Tiffy, but I've augered a fair few times lately due to unresponsive pull out.

Is there more information on "Grande Cirque"?  I have searched Amazon for it and been unable to find it.  Is it printed in English?  What is the author's full name?  The full title of the book?

Thanks much.

"Big Show" is written by Pierre Closterman, French ww2 fighter pilot who fought in RAF and flyed Spits, Typhoons and Tempests.
He wrote couple other books too but this one is best of them (Others are rubbish imo).
My copy is printed in fifties so you could try to find it from some old book stores.

Another fine book is Adolf Gallands "Die Ersten und die letzen", (First ones and last ones?)

If you're interested about Kamikaze pilots I have finnish print of "Divine wind", written by Inoguchi (One of their commanders) and U.S Officer few years after the war. Also printed in -50's.

Replicant, Vulcan,
What sticks are you guys using?  MS FF with the feedback turned on?

I ask because I've had the same sort of feelings from my FF stick, something is just different.  Controls don't appear quite as responsive and I've had pull-out issues in the last couple of days.  I haven't flown the Tiffe, but noticed a similar feel to the La7.
