Title: 40 second ah film
Post by: kculon on November 19, 2008, 10:26:47 PM
Hi All<S>,
I made my first AH film

http://www.fotgfilms.com/video/ahFilm.html

I had some trouble with stuttering footage when I captured, I tried to cover it up with camera shake :-)
Must be something wrong with my system.
Anyway, enjoy!

The camera shake/stutter is not just your problem, other film-makers have experienced the same problem.

Now, in regards to your film.........

 :O

HOLY MOLEY! GIMMIE MORE!

Although there was no sound, the quality of the footage was pristine, absolutely brilliant. I also enjoyed the effects (Matrix style, or attempt at it), the camera angles, and most importantly of all, the action.

Please, and I'm begging you, PLEASE come back.... And make it quick. :noid

*Watches film again*

Thanks Denholm,
Since the vid was on our home page I didn't want any sound looping over and over, thus. no sound.
I Would like to make a version that does have sounds, I think it would "sell" the video better.

It's too bad the AH film thingy has so many bugs and gotchas. I could write a book of changes and improvements.
But some kind of film viewer is better than none. At this point the film viewer stopped capturing all together and runs wild. Maybe a memory leak or something. My cpu's run at 50% and get real hot if I don't turn off the process in windows system manager, after I force quite the film viewer. So no more film till I get it sorted out.

Thans again,
<S>kc

Thanks again.
But I can't do any more right now, I can't get the film viewer to work. When I set up a shot and try to capture the FV crashes and sends my system into self destruct mode, no kidding.
Does anyone know how to fix this kind of problem? or?

Excellent effects, it's got a classy feel to it and the format adds to it. It was made to be embedded into a webpage no?

Nice work!

I will consider making a tut on some of the stuff I did as soon as I resolve the issues I'm having with the film viewer.
In the mean time I can post some links that have helped me make projects like my film.

Programs I used:
AH Film Viewer
Fraps
After Effects cs3
Flash FLV encoder.

hello there Kculon, just incase you still had trouble with stuttering film capture, here is a well known tip. Record in 1/2 speed, or even 1/4 and then double(or x4) the speed of the clip in your movie editor. this way you can max out your graphics setting and still get a good frame rate in the capture. I didnt watch your film i have to go play now :D but its the next thing i will check out here. good luck with the capturing.

S!

Well done kculon.

I really loved it and would like to see more.
The colors, the fading, the camera shake, all looked great.  Even the quality was high.
Hope you get all things working again soon!
