Title: Join us for Battle of Britain part 2, Saturday November 22nd.
Post by: Brooke on November 20, 2008, 11:56:44 PM: Starting Saturday, November 22nd, 2008 in the Special Events II arena -- a special continuation of the Battle of Britain scenario.

Walkons are welcome to join us. Please show up no later than 3 pm Eastern Standard Time.

It's late fall in 1941, a year since the British Army, as well as civilians with pitchforks and torches repelled the invasion of England by German forces. Now Hitler is MAD and has tasked the Luftwaffe with the complete destruction of Southampton and London. With the new Me109F joining the battle, Hitler is certain that his bombers will get through and crush the morale of the Britains once and for all.

But don't count the British out yet! Churchill has pressed the RAF to deliver the latest versions of their frontline fighters, the Spitfire Mk5 and Hurricane MkIIC to repell the expected bomber raids that have started on beloved English cities.

Welcome to BoB08 Frame 4!

RAF Planeset:

Spit squadrons get Spit V's.
Hurricane squadrons get Hurri IIC's.
Four Hurricane squadrons can fly Spit V's instead of Hurri IIC's if they wish.

LW Planeset:

109 squadrons will fly 109F's.
110C squadrons can fly 110C or 109F's if they wish.
Ju 88 squadrons will fly Ju 88's.

The CM's will assign you to a side. The goal is to balance the sides (not 50:50, but in the case of this scenario to 84:131, as that's what it was designed to), and they do their best to take into account your preference for side when doing that balancing.

I hope you can make it -- we'd love to you have fly with us for frame 4 of Battle of Britain.

(Probably not the best person to say that, as its only my 2nd scenario - being too much of a wuss (and work getting in the way) to fly any of the others.

I'll be there, not going to miss this, start time will be 1200 PST for me right? What time do you need to be in the arena for? I'm not bothered about sides, Just want to have some fun!

The Special Events II arena is locked to admittance starting at 3 pm EST (i.e., noon PST), so please show up at or before that time.

I feel you guys are a vital part of the Community, Look at it from my view, here i was planning on having a few hours tooling around in the MA and now I can log on and take part in the recreation of an historical event, all at no extra charge! AH is amazing and it's the guys that do the organizing that are the real heros in this game.

Best walkon seats in the house start going out at ~11:30-11:40 PST (not really, but thats when things start up), so if you can try to show up 30-20 minutes early if you're a walkon.

Event Time:
12:00 PM PST
1:00 PM MST
2:00 PM CST
3:00 PM EST

We should be flying around for about 3 hours this frame if it's like the last ones.
