Title: IE 8
Post by: trigger2 on November 23, 2008, 03:08:00 AM
Dunno if I should post this here or in the O'club so, if I'm wrong, I apologize...

But, I just got IE 8 beta 2 after a friend had convinced me "Oh it's so much better than IE 6! How could you live with that dreadful thing?"
The issue is is I get that annoying yellowish toolbar across the top constantly that says, "Internet Explorer is currently running with add-ons disabled. Click here to manage, disable, or remove your add-ons."

I tried "Tools > Manage add ons" but they re-did that so I can't simply go "Whoops, enable add-ons."

Anyone here had the same issue or just know how to fix it? I'd love to hear from you. Thanks!

OS = xp :D

Eh, nvm, just went to IE 7...

Although, I must say, IE8 looks pretty sweet and has some nice functions. ;)

That would be an un-wise decision. There are some ActiveX controls that will work with IE that don't work with Firefox. For example, Windows Update......

Dumping IE is something you DON'T want to do, even if you have Firefox.

If I remember correctly, you can't "dump" IE, without screwing your O.S. system...GAtes made sure of that.  Granted, there are some ActiveX deficiencies with Firefox, and you can't use Winblows updates with Firefox.  The ONLY reason IE is on my system IS for the Winblow updates.  Again, IMHO, anyone that uses IE is secretly harboring S&M tendency's ...again in MMHO ...YMMV :D
