Would it be possible to inject some rule into the game so that if any bomber is baild out of while undamaged, a kill is awarded to the nearest enemy pilot within 6.0?!
I follow a set of B24's for over 30 minutes,...climbing/closing on them the entire time, only to have them dive away and bail just within visual range.
B.S., ................... :furious
Im extending a plee to all you bomber jocks... plz, please, PLEASE!!!!, <<<STOP BEING COWARDS>>> :pray

i got 3 kills for a guy bailing and i was 4 or 5k away, and there is already a thread out right now on how annoying this tactic is fyi

I agree this is probably the single most annoying thing in the game, however it has nothing to do with being a coward. Sometimes people actually just have to do something else in real life....

Nah, the single most annoying thing in the game is the P51/190/Typhie that comes in several thousand feet over your head and thinks that extending several K after every pass is dogfighting.

hey man thats life, they even say it in the training section altitude is key, its their advantage over you and i see no reason why not to use that advantage

The only way to get a kill at that distance is when you have pinged him before he bailed

yeah it was awhile ago, i may have hit him on another pass or something, i just remeber i was pretty far and he bailed all the bombers real fast

IMO, there are two things will help stop bailing bombers pilots:
First, install a timer on the ability of a bomber pilot to re-up if they bail and their is not a "kill" shot by the enemy. If the buff pilot has all three buffs still in teh air... and they bail they will get penalized. Make it 5-8 minutes or something. Oh how the squeakers and gamers will howl!
Secoondly, install an alititude limiter on being able to drop bombs. If they must be at 5k, then the lanca-stuks and other such vermin who bring their hvy buff down to 500ft to carpet bomb and perform a stall turn to make a 2nd or 3rd run wont be able to do so... it is those kind that do it most.
... and yes it takes away from the game in a big sort of way.

There already is one.......bombs must travel at least 1000 feet.
While i will agree heavies should only be able to drop from F6 (ie level) I'll fly at any altitude i like.
As far as your BS "vermin" comment goes you can jam that one.
Funny how we have such different reactions to low buffs. When i see low buffs i think "easy kills"
where as when you see low buffs you think "this is an outrage! HTC make this go away".
To each is own i say but please leave your 1 stroke covers all paint brush at the door.

I never said that it was wrong, nor did I say that they (HTC) should engineer the game to prevent it... I just said that it is the single most annoying thing in the game... In my opinion...

Perk formations.

Perk formations.
If you search in the wishlist I already writted about bomber perks. Everybody has lots of perks and the only way to spend them is to fly the Arado.
My suggestion was to perk the formation, every drone would have a cost. Would be also nice add from 1 till 5 drones option.
Saluti!

It couldve been worse...you might have spent 30mins catching up with him only for him too shoot you down right away :rofl and then taunt you on 200 i stopped chasing bombers a long time ago very frustrating :rofl

Oh the level of cognitive thinking in these forums just overwhelm me. Sure thing, if you want to fly hvy bombers at 500ft and do the snap turn to circle back and carpet bomb that single gv. Go ahead. You'll be grouped in with the other *vermin*, evidently you dont hear the chorus of sighs, joshing, and other snide comments when someone in a lanc performs the stuka menouver and then bails immediately thereafter? I too think easy kills when I see buffs are low level, but that isnt the point now is it? It is about limiting the abuse of bomb-n-bail and the abuse of the "game gaming" bomb-n- bail lanc-stuka tactics.
I'm far from a "one stroke paint brush covers all" type of guy. Far from it. I am however opposed to sims being "gamed". Flying hvy bombers at 500ft, dropping 7k of ord, pulling up hard and doing a snap turn and making a second drop of 7k worth of ord vs a single gv or two... is in fact gaming the game and I'll put $100 on the table it didnt happen in WWII. Yeah, there were low level buff runs. Yeah, there were low level buff runs vs gv installations or defensive positions... but no, a Lanc pilot wasnt ignorant nor stupid enough to get to 500ft at low speed, drop the ord, pull up/snap turn, make a second pass and drop 14k of ord vs a single gv. There are so many reasons it didnt happen. Logistics. RoE. AA/enemy fighter interecept, etc.
Oh.. and fwiw, the 1000ft a bomb has to travel has less to do with the alt of the aircraft than most think.
I've said it once, and obviously I'll say it many more times until the problem is fixed.... those pics of the low level (3k or below) bombers in WWII were a product of one of three things: First, minimal chance of AA defenses. Two, minimal chances of fighter intercept. Three, they were fabricated. The allies simply did not throw their bombers out as sacrificial lambs. In the fall of 1942, my g'pa hit Jap shipping up and down the "slot" in the PTO in a B24 and the lowest level he ever dropped his ord was 5k and the threat of either Jap fighter intercept or AA was minimal. They didnt make a second pass but rarely either, much depended on the weather and time of day.
This low level-multiple pass-lanc stuka-bomb n bail "tactic" in AH2 is a travesty and I hope HTC acts upon their own voiced accord (evidently, HTC has been quoted as saying they recognise it as an issue) and fix the problem.

Well kettle meet pot...if you had actually read my post you would see that i am against
dive bombing heavies.
My issue is your lumping all low flying buffs in the same group. As long as they are dropping using their bombsite
it's plenty fair. Have you actually attempted to kills gvs in a buff at low level in the bomb site? It's no easy task,
by the time you spot the gv it's too late for anything but minor corrections. For myself unless the VH is down and
there is more than 10 gvs ib i wouldn't up buffs. My il2 of death is plenty effective in dispensing said gvs ( O and
i was dispatching gvs in an il2 long before the 37mm addition). Just because someone flies buffs low it doesn't mean
they are "lancstuka" pilots.
I'm well aware of what "travel 1000 feet" means.
There is plenty of stuff that goes on in this game that "wasn't historical". Should everyone have to fly for hours
before engaging enemies because "historically" that's how it was?
As far as the picture of those low level 24s being "doctored" why don't you look up operation "Tidalwave".
Finally what's your in game id? I've got some lovin for ya.

Don't perk formations. Perk Ord. Newbie buff pilots will need the extra defense when learning to fly the heavies, instead perk 1000lbs bombs on up. This way everyone can still be effective with 500lbs bombs but it costs extra for the real heavy stuff.
