So Far i have noticed the Yak-9t cannons will always give you an assist if you kill a fighter that even the slightest damage.
In the DA i was flying a yak-9t and i saw a spittie with a fuel tank leak. (not on fire) so i used 3 cannon rounds and shot its wing off, it hit the ocean, and i got an assist. this happened 4 times that sortie. i was out of ammo with 2 kills and 4 assist( all of the assist were when they were slightly damaged)
so I am saying when hit an enemy FIGHTER with a 37mm (which is always fatal),you get an automatic kill, unless, of course the fighter is missing a critical part (i.e: the wing, tail, etc) I love flying the yak but the system unfairly gives the kills to people who put more rounds into it, but didn't do critical damage.
so 37mm into enemy fighter with no critical damage = kill.

The player who does the most damage gets the kill. There's nothing wrong with the 37mm.

than it must be a bug because i got 4 assist in yak-9t and all of em i caused a critical part to fall off.

Destroying a vital part of a plane does not mean that you did the most damage to it.

Other than confirming that you steal kills, you stated nothing in your post that wasn't already implemented.

first of all i NEVER STEAL KILLS (ask anyone)
second of all if you blow off the wing you should get the kill if the 37mm hits it head on and it has onlu slight damage so it is fair.

How do you know it only had a slight damage before? What if some other guy put 60% of the damage a wing can take into it and your 37 mm round the additional 40% ? Why should you get the kill then?

Denholm, isnt that a bit of an unfair attitude?

the 37 will take a critical part off everytime it hits unless it is a bomber

I had one put a hole in the radiator of my Spitfire Mk XIV once. It hit from about 1000 yard behind me.

If you play with your food you deserve to lose it. Any aircraft under controlled flight, no matter what is leaking or missing, deserves attention.

i fly yak9t quite often, and can tell you that what you experienced is somewhat a fluke.when i shoot a plane with 37mm i usually get the kill, but there are times that you get an assist.Think about this,a 37mm puts alot of damage in a very small area causing enough damage to take parts off with no problem. If someone puts 2-3 20mm rounds i would say they have caused more damage than you,but givin that its over a spread area its not enough to take it out of action and we've all seen planes take quite a bit of damage(especially from 20mm) and still continue to fly.So if you look at it after that a 37mm would put the plane out of commission, however the amount of hit points your 37mm has caused is lower than that of 2-3 20mm rounds.

The Yak-9T takes a lot of patience. Fun little ride though.

DO NOT underestimate the power of the NOODLEMAN .37mm Cannon. :rock :rock :rock :rock :rock :rock :salute

Just because you think you did the most visable damage doesn't mean the guy that attacked the bandit prior to you didn't. He may have wounded the pilot in the bandit plane or removed a flight surface or two. Just because you remove a wing doesn't guarantee you the kill.
Here's my advice...stop trying to steal other people's kills and stop ganging, otherwise get used to getting assists instead of kills.

look i don't steal kills. ask anyone. but if a freindly gives a spitty a pw he can still fly BUT if a 37mm hits anywhere it is gonna kill anything except maybe a bomber.

If the Spitfire wounded the pilot and then you come along and try to pick the bandit and remove its wing with a 37mm burst, the Spitfire will still walk away with the kill because he wounded the pilot. The damage to the vital areas was already done by the time you came along.

Nobody's asked the obvious yet: Was he firing his MG as well? Which gun was hitting, doing the damage? You land 5 12.7mm hit sprites on a wingtip it'll take it off, but the 50 from the guy before you did more damage.
Probably a stupid question, but in this case it helps to rule out the obvious.

Nothing more I can add here that really hasn't already been said by others. But I'll try to not be as blunt as the others.
While you hit his wing with 1-3 37mm rounds, it is very possible that someone else hit his same wing (or his entire plane) with ~50-100 .50cal rounds.
If you are complaining about not getting kills on leftovers limping home, you should go for some fresher meat next time to satisfy your "hunger".
