Maybe if you guys would pork troops, ord & dar, you could get your scores down AND help the rook effort. Maybe even kill a few planes along the way. Just my .02 cents.

i don't know what you're defining as milking? high bombers? or the lower alt fighters and bombers attacking a base? if it's the latter, that's one of the best ways to creat an incredible furball.
in MW last night, there was a furball between 5(i think) and 29. it moved back n forth a few times. they porked some of our stuff, and we returned the favor, but all in all, there was FUN fighting, almost constant for over 2 hours. no gang bangs, no hotards, just good fun fighting....interspersed with a little running here and there. i don't blame them though, as when they did, it was their best option, and they ALWAYS came back as soon as they had a good fighting alt.
was serious fun.

A true milker (not a player that does the occasional milkrun) porks only strat targets, not airfields.

What I meant by "milkers" are the ones that do nothing for hours on end but bomb factories. I watched 2 guys this morning for 3 hours do nothing but. I tryed in vain to pork troops and ord but it was just too many bases for one or two guys to do. Meanwhile bish had less numbers and still they rolled up bases with ease. Rooks just don't seem to be with it like they used to be.
Another example today is when bish took a base while we had two friendly GVs in town. Another example...also this morning, my squadie alerted a noe bish raid on a field of ours.....no one came until after it was taken. Alert was given 10 minutes before they broke dar. me and him ran over there in tempests but we were fighting 20, so we lasted about as long as a turd in the ole punch bowl.
This is why I'd just as soon furball anymore. I'm just disappointed in the rooks lately. They used to be better than this.

2 Tempests vs low and slow bomb laiden attack planes should have been easy lunch for you guys even going 2 vs 20. You should have at least been able to kill the goons and enough of the other planes to stop the mission or at least slow them down enough until help arrived. I get this mental image of you guys blowing through making ho passes vs 110s, lol.

After that two day Rook Blitzkrieg, of course Rooks aren't what they used to be. Now, a skilled horde commander is NECESSARY to rally the Rooks to grab. They just seem to have burned out. (In orange, at least.)

Dude, you are missing out on some good clean fun. Switch sides, shoot them down, rinse and repeat. Relish in their howls and lamentations. If I'm on, dispatch me to do your evil deed. Two thumbs up and good fun for the whole family. :aok :aok

I have close to the same feeling about the knights. They have never been uber base takers but teamwork has gone down the drain. Seems like at perk times we are outnumbered and all the knights are hording one base. No one defends just flies along in the horde/furball.

now see....in MW, thatg isn't always so. i was fighting in the northwest section of the map. no base taking attempts, just fights(against rooks). one of my squaddies mentioned the bish were attacking one of our southeastern bases. next thing ya know, most of us are there defending, and having a grand old time with the fights that ensued.
i think that people try to say rooks do only this, knights can't do this, bish are "this", like they think people fly differently because they have a different chess piece above their cartoon planes.
in reality, it's the same, regardless of what chess piece you fly for.

I have pretty much flown Knights since beginning over a year and a half ago, and this is as true as it gets. Each side has it's share of all types of players.

Now that's funny. Lately, there's been a plethora of self-appointed Rook Supreme Commanders in Blue. Hopefully they'll go to Orange (or bishnits) and save me from squelching them.

No offense takin'. I'm surprised to took this long for that to come up. And seeing as how it has, i'll say this again. If the milkers are looking for a fairly good bomber rank they can get it by doing something alittle more talented and helpful then carpet bombing a factory all morning.
I know it's their 15 bucks, but geez, play the game for pete sakes. These are probably the same guys that don't give check 6s, or wouldn't bring you supplys when your tiger is tracted. I'd do that for you as you'd do that for me. It's called being in the game and a asset to your country.
These guys couldn't FIND a VH much less hit one. But tomorrow mornin' they'll be lookin' at their bomber rank saying,"o yeah, I'm the l33t bomberman". :rock

For the most part, yes they are. But here lately bish have gotten several massive squads :jokers, claimjumpers, rollingthunder, and swampdragons. At any one time you have at least 20 or 30 guys on the same page working on an set objective. Nits and rooks don't have the horde squads. Am I wrong? :salute
-

I concur, they do the same type of things no matter what country they are flying for.
those that spend their time being jerk offs have no issue switching sides to find the easy pickings when they need to. so i find gamey jerkoff behavior to be about equally spread out through each country.

Yes, very wrong.
LCA and 357th. LCA does craptons of missions, and leads the MoM. 357th goes on periodical theme horde missions, and they tend to pull in tons of people. Have you ever seen one of Limbo0's joint Land/Air missions? God, they are beautiful.... :rock

Yes sir you are right. They are great missions and have joined a few. But thats only 2 squads. The maps bish take on a regular basis should tell you they are more organized then us.
I joined a mission the other day and the mission leader wanted to take heavy ponys noe! WTF is that? I just politely flew the other way and got some alt. When I got there 20 minutes later, most were all dead, town still up and a sea of whirbels covered the field
Mind you this wasn't a LCA or 357th mission, but the above mentioned mission seems to be the norm. I'd put my own, in your face, just try to stop us mission, but everyone wants to noe somewhere because they don't want to fight for it. It comes down to people wanting score without fighting for it.

actually, now that i think of it, i think there was another thread realted to this just recently. porking cities, and factories, does indeed do things. it slows down the rebuild times for things hit on bases.

But the point is that one has to DESTROY something in order to have something to rebuild. There's not much point in porking factories if all the enemys strats are up all the time anyway.
-
The point is that folks enjoy doing what they want to do in the game.
If you cant understand or accept that fact, then your ignorance is showing thru loud and clear.

I think the factories should be priority.. Then when they are down pork the fields..I posted a thread last week asking if it was worth milking factories ,and after looking into it it seems it is.. There should be furballs over the factories in an effort to protect them for strategy purposes. If done right it should only take 2 sets of lancs per factory which would not take all morning..Then when you pork a base the thing is somewhat crippled...If you were watching two guys all morning bombing factories maybe you could ask them if they needed help so they could help you with the way you think the game should be played :salute

Uptown, how long have you been a rook? I' know you've been around a good long while and I think I remember you from AW. For as long as I can remember Rooks only pork or pick. I've been at Bish fields with 2 full dar bars and you will only see one guy porking and wonder where the heck are the others. As far as I know dredger and probably you are the about the only ones that run missions and play to strategy. :salute

WELL, THE TWO MAIN TIMES I FLY BUFFS, are 1)when i'm jost not in the mood to fly a fighter. in this case, i generally fly deep into enemy territory, and hit something important looking.....A city, a factory of some sort, fuel dump, etc.
2)in support of my squad, at which point i hit hangars of sme sort, ords, or the town....whatever they ask me to hit. i'm kinda slow at it, as i don't do the "lancstuka" thing, and i don't come screaming in at 900ft, to only get some of my eggs off.....i take the time to get to alt, let my buffs have plenty of time to stabalize speed, then pick my target according to what they need hit. fly out pretty far, gentle sweeping turn, and repeat.
i rarely ever miss what i'm aiming at.(unlike when i'm trying to shoot something down :rofl )

Learn to deal with it uptown. I have flown long bomber missions strictly to hit a strat. In those instances it is usually because I have other things to do rather than sit at a computer terminal. I can take care of all sorts of things while flying out and climbing. I come back to the terminal 30 minutes later, bomb the target and laugh at those trying to climb to my alt and chuckle when they get shot down clawing for alt. Then I fly a long ways back and land. In the meantime, I have taken care of many "honey-do" jobs around the house. I guess its kind of like appeasing the wife ack in way.
I have floated from country to country, its all the same, just different names.

There's nothing I'd love more then to switch sides and shoot these factory porkin' skum down repeatedly, but my CO will not allow that. And my own morals won't allow me to PM an enemy countryman to have them kill the skumbags. So I'm pretty much have to come to these boards and rant about it. And as usual the lame arse milkers get all the support and the poor ole grunt in the trenches takes the beatings. I guess I'm the only one here tried of mindless furballs with no purpose or goal. It's sad really. This game offers so much more. (http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/kk121/TheAmish/Good_night.gif)

well ya know Uptown, any time you see my name in the roster and your having issues with lame arsed milk runners who wont work for the cooperative good, then if you were to bring it to my attention i would have no problem with letting every Rook Knight and free lance side switching Bishop know that there are easy points floating around in sector so and so heading towards sector so and so.
see i look at it this way, if they are not apart of a mission or supporting their chosen countries war effort by bombing targets of necessity then they are only in it to earn pork points and score pad.
i will not trade sides and give up information on missions or secrets of one country to those in another, but score hores and perk hunters aren't flying missions in support of their country, but anyone who plays only for score/points are not really countrymen to anyone and are entitled to no form of loyalty or courtesy of silence from me.
actually I would find it to be my duty to assist them in their endeavors of acquiring points and padding their score by notifying everyone as to their where abouts and intended destinations. it would be my pleasure to give then the ability to gain additional points by getting every fighter possible into the air for them to shoot down and thus increase their score dramatically!

I am guilty as charged. I know nobody cares and we all play for our own equally valid reasons. I REALLY don't give a darn about winning the war. What attracted me to Warbirds more than 11 years ago was the histroical matchups and fighter v fighter against a human opponent (bombing a static building bores me). I DO COOPERATE often---offering to bring troops, I go on some missions (REALLY enjoyed MoM---thanks guys), I am VERY serious about 6 calls, and I will help if asked or in conjunction with my squad. Why then do I milk run? And when? When I spent all of my time in a fighter my overall rank sucked. Of course, who cares?? Well, people actually gave me crap about the overall. So, if it is early morning and 6 to 12 people are in the arena I will do 1 or 2 buff runs, and maybe 1 Ostwind strat hosing. I also work on "base capture plans' for later squad use. Of course we are not looking for the most efficient way (quite easy) but sometimes interesting ways (i.e., how many b26s to de-ack medium field on one pass (use NE-SW run). So, I often test the theory (ok got 6 aks 1 pass, etc..). Anyway racking up bases with two guys opposing you is a bity of a "milk run" too. Especially since at 7 am EST each side is just taking bases or jumping in AK/ Wirbels for cheap / easy points---not much different. So, enjoy the game---you may see me leveling a refinery at 0630---if you really need a bus or help---just say "hey Impakt I need a hand"----I'll do it.
Impakt
BTW-- I never do more than 1 or two runs or 1 in a Gv. I often defend bases---did that the other day frustrating the crap out of three semi-competant would be base grabbers at a CV. I did ask for help---eventually some came. I learned not to get to bent out of shape about others. I don't know how many times I've give 10 six calls to 5 different players who then silently watch me get bounced as they zoom in on the person about to kill me, etc.. Or who won't clear a pursuing La-7 as I rtb bingo ammo in a P-40 unless you say "easy kill".I find spawn camping and AK weenie stuff more ridiculous. Anyway--- I like the occasional 25,000 foot lanc run and as often as not I will take ords to a town under attack.
