Title: You have crashed
Post by: Twist on November 28, 2008, 03:25:00 PM
The text buffer should have read 'You have just driven your flak for 15 minutes to reach a paved road in town whilst accumulating several kills for nothing because there is a bug in the software, sorry!'.

No film, don't normally have it on.

Landed many times before the same way in town on a road with no problem.

Fix it.

Thanks.

sure it wasn't already captured? you sure it was a friendly town ?

if so, I think i've seen a few paved areas in town that do not count as "concrete" every now and then. I think its some of the areas along the diagonal road.

It was an NME town, just finished taking it down. I've landed safely on the pavement next to the maproom/hanger more times than I can count in NME towns ot at an NME base, until today. Sounds like a glitch to me.

It sounds like they did precisely fix the glitch that you have  been using to game the game  :devil

you will only land safely in a n m e town if there are no n m e around.
iF there are any planes or gvs you will get a crashed or captured message.

If no one is around you will get a safe landing

I think Hitech said it was 5k

Finally! The kind of reply I was looking for.

So you're saying there is a set range that determines how my 'mission' ends. I knew that to be true of aircraft but this is the first I've heard of it affecting vehicles.

OTOH it still should not have said I crashed. I can accept captured as that makes sense. Still needs a tweak in the code.

Without going into why I will say I was hoping to be captured.  :salute

I believe that it doesn't mater if you are in a GV or in a plane. If there is a con inside the 5k range you will not have a successfully landing ( of course this does not go for friendly fields). And the only reason i see that you "crashed" is that maybe someone pinged you? Like townack or something.

This "crash" thing has happened to me more than once.  My guess has always been that i am still moving, or the front end thinks I'm still moving, when I end sortie.  Really frustrating.  You need to be completely stopped to land a gv.  PT's are the worst.

And, the "landing" range.  i always use 6k to be safe.  No more icons.  If you're inside your friendly radar ring and nothing is flashing, anywhere is usually safe also.  It's the one you don't see that gets you.
