Lets see if we can get 50+ people in to the AvA without having everything revolve around base taking. This mission is set for December 4th. Log in time 7:30PM CST with mission launch at 8PM.
I chose this target area in red since in had a high number of targets (four strats and one airbase) in a fairly small area but could be defended without have the interceptors strung out over hundreds of miles.
A53 outlined in green will be where the bombers and escorts take out of. I picked this base because some of the others in that area had GV spawns and could be easily taken before the mission date. It also gives the allies time to climb over the coast or out to sea before making their run inland.
A34 is a large base that the axis can roll from and defend the target area without waisting all their gas waiting for the bombers to show up.
That pink line is the "front line" and I ask the axis squad COs that will participate in this event hold their squads behind this line until the enemy crosses it. Iv taken part in those big raids in the MA and have seen people attacking the bombers on climb out just 25 miles after takeoff. I would like the bombers to start running into enemy fighters after they are leveled off and formed up.
Planes for this mission will be:
Allies
B-26B - Alt. 10-20K
P-38G- Alt. 15-30K
P-47D-11 Alt. 15-30K
Axis
Me 109G2/6 Alt. 15-30K
C. 205 Alt. 15-30K
Fw 190A-5 Alt. 15-30k
It would be great if the AvA staff can make sure that A53 and A34 are in the right hands the night of the mission so it goes off without a hitch.
So go forth and spread the word about the mission. :aok

I'm thinking 80th/479th (think that's the squad akak and crims are in) in their P-38Gs, 353rd in their P-47Ds and maybe a known bomber squad from the MA at the heart of the allies. Maybe flatiron can be the lead of the jugs and one of the 80th/479th can be lead for the 38s. With JG54 and JG11 at the heart of the axis. I'm only guessing but I think that 11 will be wanting to fly 109s. So if they do stampf can lead the 109s and JG54 can fly 190As and one of us can lead them. If we can get another axis squad that would like to fly the 205s that would be great but if not I think 109s and 190s would work.
-
Im sure we can get some MA squads to come
-
Won't be able to make it, working till 9:30 EST on the 4th
-
TK, would half mine in 109 with the other half in 190 and C205 be 'aight?
-
You guys can fly with you want. I was just guessing that you guys would fly 109s. If you guys are ganna mix it up then I think we will to, so there are about the same number or 109s and 190s. I kinda want to fly a 109G6 with gondies but if we don't have enough buff pilots I wont mind flying a B26. Iv been on both ends of these kinda of missions and I find it more fun in the middle of a big formation of bombers trying to take out the fast moving fighters that cut through us.

Make it december 3rd, pretty pleaseeeeeee :(

Ive talked to floatsup(+ precision), he said he will pass it on to squadies and there a very good bomber squadron.

Use one of those sick days. :P
If we don't get a good turn out the next one will be on a Wednesday. If we can get people to film it and post their AHfilm files we can get a AvA promotional movie made.

Sick days aren't an option :lol
-
Be neat if we could run the mission then swap sides. I want to be a buff AND shoot them. :)
-
Sounds like fun, will try to make it

I'll be glad to fly B-26's. I prefer 109-G2, but I'd really like to see an authentic, ie BIG, allied bombing force.
-
353rd will be there. hope to bring AVA back alive.

I just ran the mission in B-26s. I rolled with 75% gas to see how far that would get me. Once up from A53 I started climbing to the east until sector 11.17.5 Then turned south leveling off at 19K. At that alt max MP is at 39 inches and you pull 279mph will doors open. After heading south for about three sectors I turned west at 11.14.8 heading for the city. With 75% I had about 61 minutes of fuel when I drooped my bombs and a max range of some 400+ miles.
To the guys flying the bombers in the mission I would suggest 50%, you could probably make it with 25% but if you get a fuel leak you might not make it home.
I ha vent flown it in the P38 or P47 but my first guess would be 75% and a drop tank.

P-38: 50% and DT's
P-47 75% and DTs
Nuff said? :salute

Yea I think the axis should be rolling with 75%. If i get to fly my 109 Ill be maybe going with 100% since I like to use WEP all the time.

I'll probably up B-26's tonight, since I had an unfortunate accident with my headset. :)
